Talk abut rewards, guys. This was completely unexpected. I am going to be in Boston between November 8th and 12th. Conference, all expenses paid by the company... That will be right at 1 month celebration... so thank God I am non-smoker... as I know Boston has a huge smoking ban in place
So, who lives in Boston guys? I'm always up for a good coffee or really good beer.

Always a funny word from you - Butts are gone already. Boss ain't going. It's freedom all the way - Yay me!
Rock,
Yes, I want to know where I can go, what I can do. Coming from Romania, I always said that I am a yankee at heart (you southern guys, don't crucify me on this!), so Boston was on my to see list since I got here. I want to walk the streets and see the buildings - I miss the cold weather, and seasons more than anything. I want to get to see the places that the regular tourists don't get to see - eat the foods, drink the beer... you name it. The schedule for the conference is pretty lax, so I will have some time in my hands. And, as I said, knowing that Boston is pretty much non-smoking, makes it even more tempting right now.
Thank you Marivi,
I wish I could share this trip with you and the gang.
You guys are a life saver, you know that?

This is what I call an educated opinion. So I'll take it.
I still had the dizzy spells this morning, even without the patch on. So, my guess is that it is related more to the change in lifestyle than to the patch. Still, I did what I said I will do and put the patch on after I got to work. I will stick to the patch as is for now. Unless it gets worse. And I plan to go talk to a doctor anyway, since I still cannot seem to get my digestive system to work with me here. It's been two weeks since everything seems "backed up"... The beauty of breaking the addiction... I guess! Well, it takes more than that to break my willpower! I'm strong and getting stronger by the day against the nicodemon!!!

I know exactly what you mean - my body is still pretty non-responsive... but I keep on going. I am trying to exercise and watch what I'm eating - to no avail for now... But you know what? I considered the benefits versus the losses... and chose to stay with the quit. Worse case scenario, I'll deal with the weight later. Reset your meter, take another deep breath, put the cigs down... and never look back! How about that for a kick ash attitude...lol. Honestly, is do-able. And I have been the worse smoker...
Bet you can do it!

You will be OK Barbie! Look at the bright side - now you know one of your major triggers, and know that you need to stay away from it for a little while. The first two weeks I stayed glued to this site (still am, more or less) and got all the support I could from other people success stories. Read the blogs - there are a few quite inspirational. It is a big re-assurance for me to see that other people go through the same struggles, frustrations and that eventually it does get better...
Keep up the quit!

I was "talking" with one of the non-smoking buddies on this site about the importance of rewarding yourself during this challenging process. Some of you guys might be familiar with the idea. We, on the other hand, have no idea how to do something for ourselves. We've been, thoughout our lives, the ones rewarding others, the ones pampering others. For us, the cigarettes were a form of reward - as bad as they were for us... And now, that our time came, we find ourselves in this odd position of not knowing what this is all about.
So, I thought I would ask around, and try to "educate" myself - and others in my position...
What are your rewards? What do you do for yourselves that is considered a reward.
Please be gentle... no sweets, no fast-food... I am also trying to keep myself from gaining -too much- weight .
Keep the quit!
