To those who quit in March 07

Hey March Mellows, hang in there Rachel. With you're having to take the patch off, you are going thru the full blown withdrawal, and they say 2-3 days does it , so you should be near the end of the worst of it. Great job hanging on though, some would not have lasted that long, Good for you! I am on day 9, get a lil antsy here & there, but then I am on the patch so still have the nicodemon under my skin. Am considering dumping him by trying the Chantix or Champix (Cdn). Have a great day everyone and keep the quit. N.O.P.E. Not one puff ever! Welcome Stacey, stick with it. I am on day 10 and I feel so so so much better. It feels great to be able to breathe deeply, to smell things again, and not having a tight chest. Feel shakey sometimes but that is about it so far. I am on the patch though, so still have the long term fight ahead of me to get rid of the nicotine. AM beginning to think cold turkey might have been better. NOPE is the motto. Never again. Keep the quit! Hey March-Mellows, Glad to see we are growing in numbers, strength and support for each other! I think it is really awesome to be able to share the pain and the struggles and the excitement too,of this road we are on. had a good day, a busy one,so at times had actually forgotten about smoking for a bit. Don't have alot of time on the computer alone so have to post when I get the time. I am finding it fairly easy this time, but am still kind of waiting for the "other shoe to drop". I know once I have a drop down to a smaller patch I'll have a couple of growly days, but I'll make it thru. I like the March-Mellows name, I like the fact that we all have a new beginning as non smokers with the spring. An each day that the sun is out and it warms up, it reminds me its a new beginning. So lets continue to get to know each other and help each other out whenever we need too. Not one puff ever! Keep quit! Hi Rachel07, I am also on the patch. I put it on immediatley before my last cig and haven't looked back since to me. I am on day 6 and feeling better each and every day! I have quit many times before, but each time brings me new knowledge and new surprises. Finding this site was the best thing that ever could have happened to me. I printed the book too so I could read it whenever as a reminder why I am doing this. There will be tough days. Just do your best and try to plan ahead for those events that stress you out! Yesterday when I went to my favorite store for gum, the clerk asked me how many packs of cigs I wanted. For the first time I said, :None, I've quit. (Used to say I was trying to quit) Have I officially made it? I hope so. Welcome to all other March quitters, Let's hang together and try to get through this as best we can! Sorry to hear of your bad night Rachel.Thats unusual to get vertigo from the patch, perhaps you could cut it in half and try it that way. (I know you're not supposed to do that but I have done it to drop down to lower dose more slowly) I am on day 8 today. Find my worst craving is first thing when I get up. (I do wear the patch overnight unlike most, as I used to get up & smoke during the night -yeah that was insanity). My rule for this quit is, as I have seen on this site N.O.P.E. (Not one puff ever) Good luck Rachel, hope you're feeling better today! Keep trying. I like March Mellows too. Any other March quitters think it's a good name, let us know! Am inspired by the Feb 07 quitters joining together for support. Anyone who has recently quit in March please join up so we can compare notes and help each other! This is day 5 for me, and I have begun coughing up the black stuff. It was really scarey at first but then I realized my lungs are healing themsleves, so its all good. This site is so helpful, I cannot thank enough people for the encouragement I have already received here. You March 07 quitters may want to think of a name for yourselves as people have done here in the past. My lot (Feb 06) are the Knights of the Empty Ashtray Mr Ed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 390 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 11,714 Amount Saved: 2925 Life Gained: Days: 63 Hrs: 15 Mins: 9 Seconds: 6
