Yes Greenette a diabetic should not be overweight.. and should also not smoke. My hubby is a diabetic (since age of 16) and was the best diabetic ever, never smoked! Be careful with the weight hon.

Platinum,
I agree 1200 calories is very slim, especially if you are working out. Eating too little will cause your metabolism to actually slow down and store that teeny amount of calories you are taking in as fat. To lose 1 pound a week you need to cut down 500 calories per day. The recommended intake is 2000, so you could probably still lose weight with 1500 healthy calories per day? You guys are doing awesome!! ;)

Has anyone else tried the "South Beach" diet? It is low carb, but only for the first 2 weeks, is based on the glycemic index, so is better than Atkins. I have lost 15 lbs in 2 weeks on this diet, and once you read the book, you'll be shocked. My conlusion "No wonder I felt like crap, I was eating crap" It was designed by a heart specialist in Miami. Check it out!

I went out for lunch again so I'm not 100 % about calories but I do believe it will be just over 5000 (popcorn and fruit smoothie for supper again tonight) - I was ready for fahitas for I overdid my calorie quota.
20 mins treadmill, 10 mins step machine, 5 mins bicycle and afew ab exercises then off to work.

Popcorn just wouldn't do it for supper so fahita's it was. Surprisingly, a vegetable fahita doesn't have that many more calories than a bowl of microwave popcorn (even the healthy kind)

Well apparently Banana splits and wine do not make for good calorie consumption (or feeling very well the next day)
Yesterday I was up over 2500 calories but I did do an hour at the gym. Today, I only did a 30 minutes walk but stayed closer to 1500 calories.
