I shopped today, so we'll see if my feet will hold up for more abuse. lol I bought a Cardio Dance Party dvd...HAHAHAHAHA! I will be doing this in the dark with no one else at home. But it's a change from walking in place. Breakfast was lowfat yogurt, Kashi, and a banana. Lunch was a Greek salad at the mall. Snack was 8 Triscuits with Laughing Cow. Dinner will be burgers. I went to the Y last night and did the machines for an hour. Hummy, I haven't been following Sonoma strictly...just the main principles. Four mile walk this morning just about knocked me out! I learned: 1. Even though it's not even spring, I can still get dehydrated. 2. I haven't walked that far since the fall...should have eased back a little. However, I'm here to tell the tale and I'm glad I did it. It was a beautiful morning and I saw an osprey down by the river. Then I came home and ate a high-fat breakfast cooked by husband: scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, toast, peach preserves. YUM! Tonight is shrimp and something. Welcome, Pierre. That's great that you have a trainer...that's a good idea. One thing we need to know is that smoking burns 200-250 calories a day. So when we quit, that's 200-250 more calories we need to burn on top of everything else. I have not done well for the past several weeks. Traveling and arthritis flare-up are throwing me completely off and I've put on a few pounds. I'm on some new meds now, so hopefully they'll help. Meanwhile, I'm talking to my doctor next week about physical therapy to design an exercise program that I can do when I'm in this state. Thanks, Cheryl and Hummy. I'm normally a high energy person, so not feeling like going for a walk or doing exercise is such a drag. I have a great stretching dvd, so I will do that later today. I might even drag out the Tai Chi dvd that I only used once! Thanks for your kind and helpful words. Also, Cheryl, thank you and your 53 kids for reaching out to the world and embracing it with love. HAHAHAHAHA! I will NOT stop at Krispy Kreme on my way home! I will NOT stop at Krispy Kreme on my way home! I will NOT stop at Krispy Kreme on my way home! Actually I like the car running over bit. Somebody opened the last box of Thin Mints here at work and I keep walking by them and taking one out. When I leave, I'm going to take them out and run over them in the parking lot!!! Thanks, Lady! I have three ideas: 1. If you have any Girl Scout cookies left, throw them away. or 2. I'll send you mine. or 3. Take all the Girl Scout cookies left in the world to the homeless shelters. If ever I had an addiction... Rusty :8o:

I've felt better the last day or two. Sunday I did the stretch dvd and some arm weights. Monday I walked about 1/2 mile, then went to the Y and did leg work and bike. Tuesday I walked about 2 miles. Today I walked about 1/2 mile during afternoon break and that will be it for exercise today, because I have a late night tonight. As far as eating: Monday b - yogurt smoothie, coffee l - small piece of cheeseburger pie, water s - 4 thin mints d - cheeseburger pie Tuesday b - yogurt smoothie, coffee s - 5 almonds, 5 grapes, V-8 l - gyro with feta, coke s - 2 thin mints d - baked chicken (no skin), steamed asparagus, salad and a thin slice of cake Today I've had a peach yogurt, coffee, water, and a giant salad. Oh, and thin mints (dang those Girl Scouts!). A daily commitment to eating well...that's a great idea, Lady! Melanie, you're right...we do get to indulge once in a while. Otherwise, what's all this hard work for anyway? And Wendy, another great idea to donate rather than buy! I guess when cookie season rolls around, we think with our stomachs rather than our brains. Hummy, I see health coming to your house and spring arriving soon. My robins said something about Hummy's place next. :) I'm feeling great today - day off and nobody's schedule but my own. Have a happy smokefree day, everybody!
