Hell week + 1

I am still in heck week, but it is getting easier and easier by the day. My cravings are way down since last week. It seems like forever ago since I quit. Carlos, Ittakes 21 days to break a habit..we are 1/2 way there :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 165 Amount Saved: $99.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 22 Mins: 22 Seconds: 46

Cold Turkey vs. NRT.

I'm just curious how many of us have quit cold turkey or are using a NRT. It's funny, but since quitting cold turkey I am finding my cravings are far less than when I used NRT's in the past. Even the first 3 days were easier. I thought it would be the total opposite. Has anyone else had this happen? Doesn't matter to me how you quit. Whatever works :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 165 Amount Saved: $99.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 22 Mins: 23 Seconds: 45

Profile of An Addict

I'm in the same boat as you Lainey. It was like a "light bulb" moment when I thought of myself as an addict. I have stopped thinking of smoking as a habit or a past time. That has really helped me in my quit so far. Hell week + 1

Carlos, You are just wanting the time to go by faster, and by sleeping it will make it easier. I know you really want a cigarette, but it won't solve anything. Try to imagine this. You take out a cigarette and you put it to your lips. You light it up and take a big drag. You feel the smoke going down into your throat. And it feels great...for about 10 seconds. Then you start coughing and it tastes like crap! But the worst part it you start feeling guilty. You feel horrible cause you let yourself and everyone here down. You are doing awesome, 9 days! 9 whole days of fighting thru this and not smoking. You want to give all that up for 10 seconds? Sorry if that sounded harsh, But you can do this! Quit now or be left out to dry!

Greger, if you like deep fried twinkies, maybe you would like deep fried cheesecake. Montana's restaurant has them on the menu. It's cheesecake wrapped in a tortilla, deep fried , with icing sugar and hot fudge drizzled on it. You can also go for butterscotch, but I like chocolate. Highly recommend it people!
