I'm in the same boat as you Lainey. It was like a "light bulb" moment when I thought of myself as an addict. I have stopped thinking of smoking as a habit or a past time. That has really helped me in my quit so far. If you want the profile of an addict, here I am! That's why I can never have another puff! NOPE. I am one puff away from a pack a day! That's also the reason I have been successful in my quit to date because I figured out that I am an addict. You had the blahs too, Bear? It's been a bit of an epidemic here. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 191 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,775 Amount Saved: $2,015.05 Life Gained: Days: 23 Hrs: 8 Mins: 34 Seconds: 11

Pen, if your nose really wont stay clear without it you might try withdrawing one nostril from it. Penitent, Sorry but i couldn't help laughing at your story about the vick stick. I don't think you are addicted. I think it is just good to be able to breathe through your nose. I had extensive nasal surgery, and i can honestly say, Though I can breathe through my nose, i would still use a vick stick if i was blocked up. Don't worry. Anyway, with your stats, I don't think you would become addicted to anything now lynnexx My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/24/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 323 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,845 Amount Saved: 1,292.00 Life Gained: Days: 36 Hrs: 17 Mins: 4 Seconds: 51

I can't believe this and on the same day that Bear started this thread!! I bought a new Vick Stick yesterday to deal with potentially blocked sinuses and from the very first snort, my nasal passages were tantalised and my head cleared - now I can't stop sticking it up my nose!! Wonderful!! Am I addicted? :confuse: My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/18/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1212 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 24,240 Amount Saved: 6,060.00 Life Gained: Days: 194 Hrs: 16 Mins: 0 Seconds: 47

We are all looking for something to satisfy us and fill a void in a world that is running wild. Perhaps we are barking up the wrong tree when it comes to finding the real meaning of what brings us that "peace that trancends all understanding". (phillippians 4:7) It will never be found in things that tantalise the body...but in the one that nurtures the soul.
