You should feel good about it, Gorda. You should feel FABULOUS. The concensus seems to be that the cravings begin to subside after 2-3 days. Not that you won't still have them but they won't be the monsters they are now. Are you using any NRT or medication? You're doing great, hang on now. Try distracting yourself with a walk, a bath or shower or something you never used to do while smoking. We're all there with you & here for you!

Oh, Cuddles how awful for you to be away when something like that happens! Thank God the kids are OK & everyone else & that you realized smoking was not the answer. I'm sure you know that lots of us slip during the process & the important thing is you keep going. At least you had a good reaon for your slip, mine was just drinking with smoker friends! I'm so glad nobody got hurt.

If it's getting easier, or course it's right, silly Cricket! There is no right or wrong, it's different for everyone but if you made it to 14 days & you're feeling good, it's right.

You absolutely can say no, waterpenguin & if your friend is your friend, she will understand and support you. Legend is right, when one friend stops smoking, it can change a lot if things in the friendship. If it does get to be a problem for you, ask yourself if you would die for this friendship because thevery well might be what you're doing. Glad you feel good on your first day, keep it up & come back often!

Hi, Sue in NC & Cricket, welcome & congrats on your good-looking quits. You have probably seen postings by the March Mellows & April Ash Kickers. They are kind of a buddy system of people who quit in the same month. I think it would help to kind of hand-hold with people who are all at about the same place. We will have a name tomorrow & you can still vote on it if you want to. The coices are:
MAY-ors of Quitville, Mayflowers or No MAYbe's. Weigh in on it if you want to & look forward to quitting with you.

Wow, that's a new one for me. I was telling someone else here that my head itched like crazy when I finished the patch in a previous quit, but I've never heard of itchy arm at any time. Anybody else?

No problem, it was fun for me, too. I've quit a million times, too. The longest for 18 months. With the patch, the best I've done is 6 months. This is the last one for sure though, I'm just sick of the whole stinky, filthy, expensive, inconvenient mess and I can't believe I was ever stupid enough to give up a quit.

Hey, Dee. Thanks. There is no "hopefully", my friend. If Monday is your quit day, then you quit on Monday. 10 days from Monday, you will have 10 days. Everybody here KNOWS, not just hopes, you can do it.

That's exactly right, Dee! Maybe the stream feeds into a lake just across the field & we can walk there & go swimming & fishing & nobody will have to stop & breathe bent over with their hands on their knees for a few minutes.
