Way to go Bear! Hang in there! Yes, it was a close call. But next time you won't even hesitate, will you? Because you remember how great it feels to be able to breathe now, and how wonderful being smoke free fells now! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 97 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,425 Amount Saved: $1,023.35 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 21 Mins: 47 Seconds: 22

Waaahhooooo Bear! Those 82 days made you stop and think...if only for a second. I choose to believe that, even had you accepted the cigar, you would have felt it, smelled it, maybe even put it in your mouth, but you WOULD NOT SMOKE IT! ;) We have all come very far, and even though we are still addicts, we are distancing ourselves from our addiction. I know how hard that must have been for you, but you KICKED ASH! Nice! Well done!!! I don't know why that monster is everywhere. We have to be on guard all of the time :eg: Last week I found a lit cig on the ground and thought maybe just maybe a couple puffs. No way!! Kept on walking. Then the next day a found a full unsmoked one lying on the ground. Picked it up, looked at it, smelled it and then tore it to pieces and then today on my walk with my husband I found another one . Tore that one to pieces too. So you see my friend you did very well and I am proud of you ;) Keep the Quit Sparky My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/30/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 41 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 410 Amount Saved: $123.00 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 14 Mins: 8 Seconds: 9

Close call... I'm glad that you didn't take it, Bear. And I guess your story just illustrates how easily, and how quickly, we can fall back into smoking. You didn't... and I'll bet you're better prepared the next time. I too, have encountered circumstances that I didn't anticipate... and it took a few moments for me to get my 'bear'ings. :) Smoking, for us, is natural...after so many years. Not smoking... is still deliberate. So, until not smoking becomes a reflex... we really need to be careful and anticipate the unexpected, to the degree that we can. As many of you know I work part time on a golf course. This morning I was doing my thing when I noticed a 4 some teeing off.Out of courtesy we generaly stop what were doing and let the golfers play through. When the golfer's got close to me one of the older gentlemen stopped to chat with me he was also smoking a very fine cuban cigar.God it smelt good and I made comment about it to him.Well he reached into his golf cart and offered me a cigar.I must of hesitated longer than normal for he asked me if there was something wrong at which I responded that I had quit smoking. He apologized profusly and I said he wished he could and proceeded on his way. The truth of the matter I was INCHES AWAY from accepting that cigar and if the man had not moved on I would have ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 82 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,476 Amount Saved: $820.00 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 19 Mins: 53 Seconds: 28
