Yesterday I had a routine office visit with my doctor to adjust my migraine meds and he asked how the smoking cessation was going. I told him "43 days today!", his eyes lit up and he shook my hand telling me "what a great job, I know how difficult that is". I was surprised how much that meant to me. By the way, I gave him the address of this website and told him all about it- he said he would give it out to any patients expressing interest in smoking cessation. Thanks SSC and its members, I think I'm going to do it for good this time!

Windy,
I think that after 212 days of not smoking, if you feel like eating all day- then eat! Could it be some underlying stress of husband/triathalon/etc.? Stress usually makes me over eat. Whatever the case, don't beat yourself up about this, you are truly an inspiration for quitters like me. Be kind to yourself today and always.

Daisy,
You can and will get through this. Just think tomorrow you will be smoke free for a whole month! It helps me not to think of giving up smoking for the rest of my life, just for the next 5 minutes, then the next 5 minutes and so on. Each craving will come and go wether you smoke or not- let's make it NOT!
Hang in there, we are all rooting for you!
