Having extra bad stress and it's making me want to smoke

Well, today I feel better. I got some rest and so did the kids. They seem more agreeable now but we will see how it is the first time they can't have something. Also, I went grocery shopping for the week (without the kids, I sure didn't need to hear begging) and bought just the essencials and got away with $76.00! (I have a lot of stuff in the freezer too). I never would have gotten away with that when I was smoking, just the cigs would have been $45.00! Now I just need gas and then we are at least set for this week. My son is going to summer camp (it was already paid for), so we won't have to deal with him. I am having to cancel my health club membership too. That is the thing that is breaking my heart but it is not a nessesity. So I will need to learn to keep my weight down and get enough exersize with out it. It's good to know that this has happened to other teens and they didn't die. Mine are having fits about everything and I am sure it will take a while but maybe they will eventually adjust. We need to really cut back because if something does happen to my job, there is no way to get a job that pays nearly that much because I am in sales and I would be starting over. So we need to save some money for an emergency. Anyways, I am feeling better and I am glad that God has taken care of us for this week. I'm glad I don't have to stress about the money for cigs. I'm glad I won't have to worry about big medical bills if I get lung cancer or have a heart attack. Thank you so much for your help! It's good to know I am not totally alone in this! Still just a puff away ...

I will be very interested to see how different it is going to be for me and my daughter. I smoked for 35 years, 2 to 3 packs a day. She smoked for two years, from 14 to 16 just a half pack to a pack a day. I'm pretty sure I will always have the addiction "just under the surface of my quit" (who ever said that in this thread: that's a great saying) I could not have an open cigarette pack in front of me right now for sure. But maybe it's not too late for my daughter! At least I hope that she is not perminatly "damaged" in that way. I only have one kid that has never smoked. He says he never even considers it. I know I will probly never have that experiance of that kind of freedom, but I am going to always remember: N.O.P.E. Sorry, But I am resetting

jarlasvegas, I do have to say that I am a bit disappointed because I thought you would give us June-bugs a chance to help you before you made your decision. But try try again. Let's figure out what happened and avoid that in the future. I'm sorry, now you will have to go through those first parts again, but we are still here for you. We really need you to post first though. Can't really do anything after the fact, except try to help you back onto the path. How many June Bugs are there out there?

I have very surprizing news! If you have read my posts lately, you know I am under a lot of finacial stress. My 24 year old son came to dinner tonight and gave me 300 dollars! I can't believe it. I feel wonderfull and bad at the same time! I have really raised a great young man and he considers it to be pay back for all I have done for him. This will get us through untill the 15th of next month for food and gas and stuff and then, we'll have to see how the next check is but we are ok for now! JUNE-BUGS, get me your e-mail by going on the im if you can. If you can't maybe you can just download the im on a friends computer or something. Then just get your e-mail to me, or healerswithin, and we can get you in a good e-mail group. I know it's hard not to be able to do the im, but I don't know any other way. I love you, Melba My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 27 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,118 Amount Saved: $153.9 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 23 Mins: 8 Seconds: 54

funny

I remember being like that! For the last year I have been taking green tea supplements because I read on the web that it can undo the damage of smoking. Well, not smoking does that doesn't it? One of my favorite answers about smoking was , "well, in Houston the air is so bad that the smokers are going to live longer because we breath most of our air though filters." My friend at work is pregnant and she won't eat microwaved food because it could hurt the baby (I heard of maybe not standing in front of the microwave but not eating microwaved food, I don't know) however, she is still smoking a half pack a day. Babbling & Rambling

Yes, me too on both those things. I always seemed to have trouble with three weeks but sailed right past it this time. I also bite my nails but my one week reward was getting them done and I don't bite them then so I have quit biting them now. I was also working out but I lost my gym membership this week so i have to figure out what to do now. I am going to walk my puppy a lot for one thing, and try to get a hold of some exersize videos or something. I am really going to miss that gym membership. Anyways, we sure have a lot in common. I will be 30 days soon if you believe it! I will be stepping down on the patch in two days.
