Let the Bitterness Go

Handling emotions ... no smoking crutch ... Your post made a lot of sense for the 'stage' I am at. I do not feel any resentment or bitterness, but I can relate to the rest. It has not been easy for me to deal with emotions in real time ... I am working hard on it though hoping I will get better at it as time goes on. blah, blah, blah

I am feeling blah today. I'm tired and pretty much feel like I don't give a shat. I ended up apologizing to my hubby because I just didn't feel like getting into it. It is just not worth it to me ... to get all emotional. I did however tell him that I thought the way he reacted was childish and selfish ... but that I was sorry he felt that way and that I didn't 'mean' to hurt his feelings. All of this just seems so petty and ridiculous to me. He and I quit at the same time ... I am trying to be kind with him as well as kind/gentle with myself ... but it isn't easy all the time that is for sure. Breaking Free! CONGRATULATIONS on 30 days

Hey guys and thank you very much. I hope I don't get so positive on you guys that you boot me out ... LOL! I have been doing better with my rewards ... you guys would be proud of me. We have been working on remodeling my bathroom for awhile. We put my jacuzzi tub in last weekend. For my 30 day reward ... I am buying bathroom accessories that I want ... I will not be looking at the price tags ... nor will I feel guilty for spending a 'little extra' on myself. I'm pretty excited about it. I want to thank everyone here for their wisdom, support and encouragement. I really never thought I would ever go 30 days without smoking. I didn't ... I really didn't ... but LOOK AT ME!!! LOOK AT ME GO!!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 30 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 920 Amount Saved: $120 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 13 Mins: 55 Seconds: 4

Day three jitters
how long does the mind battle go on
This differs for everyone I would imagine. In my opinion a lot of 'how long does the battle go on' has to do with your outlook/perspective/attitude. I've been quit a month. I very rarely have 'mind battles' anymore. I probably thought of smoking approx. 3 times yesterday. I dismissed those thoughts in a matter of 1 to 5 minutes. I get more frustrated facing emotions now more than anything else. And I know smoking will solve nothing. Smoking just creates more problems. The mind battle does not last forever. There is light at the end of the tunnel. June-Bug Check up
SHE SMOKED IN MY CAR!!!! I CAN'T BELEIVE IT!!! IT'S BAD ENOUGH WHEN SHE SMOKES IN FRONT OF ME AT HER HOUSE BUT IN MY CAR!! I tryed to pretend it didn't bother me
Why did you let her smoke in your car? Why did you pretend it didn't bother you? Why did you let her cross YOUR personal boundaries?
my daughters cigs are out on the patio again. I hate that voice inside that tell me, one won't hurt, no one will know.
You will know. And you will feel horrible about it afterward. Do not ever some a cigarette again. Not even a puff. You are a non-smoker now Mama.
But the worse thing is that I feel so sorry for myself!
I do not mean this mean, so please do not take it that way. Is it possible that you feel sorry for yourself because what you really want is others to feel sorry for you or for others to give you attention or acknowledge you?
Why do I have to be the leader and example. Why do I have to do it under almost impossible conditions.
Well you know in reality you do not 'have' to be the leader or set the example. But you also know that by not setting the example, as a caring parent ... the guilt would probably be worse than what you are feeling right now about it.
Oh boy, I just want to start smoking and forget this whole thing.
Do you really? I think you need to set some personal boundaries and stick to them. Do not feel guilty about your personal boundaries. Personal boundaries are healthy. (((hugs for you Mama))) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 30 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 925 Amount Saved: $120 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 14 Mins: 17 Seconds: 6
