DUFFIS IS ON PAROLE

Of all the joints in all the world, she had to walk into mine.. (something like that anyway) Great story.. I was imagining you walking out of that hell hole with the tall smoke-stained gates dripping brown nicotine and the cigarette peddlers hanging around with half-smoked cigarettes hanging out of their mouths. The part where you slept with your new forceably assigned roommate kind of stunned me for a moment.. but hey .. it worked !! How cool are you to help your wife to her freedom ! She's a lucky girl ! I wish you all the best.. and know you can do this together now !! Hang Tuff ! One day down .... rest of my life to go!!!

Daniel Boone.. you is the man ! A Big man, with an eye like an eagle.. and tall as a mountain.. Great Decision .. we are all here to help. Do you have your quitting supplies in hand ?? some ideas : 1. use the tools here at the site.. they are set up to help us be successful.. never argue with success.. 2. get some cravin' buster munchies.. hard candy (lemonheads, redhots, tootsie roll pops, etc.), sunflower seeds, peanuts... 3. Get rid of all cigarette paraphenalia... ashtrays, lighters, extra packs of cigarettes. 4. Clean your car out completely or get someone to do it for you as incentive. Your girlfriend might believe you if you make her part of the process. 5. Tell your girlfriend that you could use her help and support. Women as you know can be really great supporters.. we are naturals.. naturally beautiful, naturally smart, naturally strong.. naturally ready to shop, well.. you know what I mean.. 6. Stay away from people who smoke if at all possible. Take a break from any influence.. do it purposely.. 7. Pamper yourself.. lay around a bit more.. remember you are in withdrawal and you may need more rest.. you are entitled.. you deserve it and don't let anyone tell you different. 8. Drink lots of water and tea and cranberry juice (there are lots of kinds.. I like cranberry-grape ). This wil help flush that nicotine out of your system faster.. make you feel better in the process too. 9. After a few days, reward yourself by spending that money you would have used for smokes. More money will be coming ! 10. Recognize the Nico Demon. He is the little voice trying to convince you to smoke. He will try anything to get you back. He is your pusher and he doesn't want to leave easily. You have to kick him out.. 11. come here often and tell us how it's going.. We can help explain things that are happening.. Congratulations and welcome dude.. We are starting a new club for people who quit in Feb 06. FairyDust is collecting names of new members (look for her post). We are currently Voting on a name for OUR new club(look for my post). Please join us ! Hang Tuff ! I MISS MY SMOKEY TREATZ!!! :(

Hey Stix !! I say get rid of those damn ciagarettes. It seems that the smoke companies were really successful with Joe Camel. But he needs to go find someone else to kill ! If the smokes are around, you will very likely slip and smoke one. Remember that you have an addiction with habits to break, those habits can be so ingrained that you pick up a smoke without even thinking about it.. If there aren't any smokes around, you won't be tempted.. Let go of that blanket Linus !!! lol You can replace them with a straw if it makes you feel better. Lots of people like the straws, it helps... Have a psycho moment and break all those cigarettes into little pieces and crush them with a hammer.. Take control.. get rid of the smokes !!! Hang Tuff ! YELLING AT MY KIDS !!!

Hey guys... To add to the louder voice, I noticed tonight when I was reading to my 5 year old that I could finish sentences without getting winded. I used to have to read part of a long sentence and point to something on the page (take a breath) and continue. Tonight I was just reading away.. The last few years, I had really began to feel the difference in my breathing and how easily I was getting winded. I swear it is as if something has opened up my airways and I can breath for the first time in many years. It feels like a miracle .. and I really am thankful that my breathing is returning to normal.. (I was afraid it might not.. you know that fear that you have just waited too long to quit ?) I joke around a lot but, the truth is I am just so happy to get another chance at being healthy.. and put away the guilt of smoking (my youngest son has COPD)even near the same place as my son. What is there not to be happy about.. ??? I just thank God and thank you all for being here.. Couldn't have done it without you.. I truly believe that. Hang Tuff Guys.. we are going to lick this yet !
