Hey Lala55 !
It sounds like you are really missing those Friday nights out with the guys.
Your body is nicotine free and the Zyban is to keep your mood up.
I will tell you that either you have to stay home forever or you will have to go ahead and learn to deal with the Friday nights out.
Don't be afraid.. plunge in.. do not put your life on hold ! The sooner you get on with your life without considering cigarettes in eveything you do.. the better.
Do not anticipate that it will be terrible. Do not set yourself up to feel bad.. you are going out to be with your friends not to hang out with a cigarette.
If it gets to you.. go home and try again next week.
You would be suprised at how far you have come.. you are staying home on Friday nights for this quit.. OMG I have faith in you..
Check with your doctor about the Zyban.. can you stop it for one day a week ?? Will the effects be out of your system so you can have one or 2 drinks ?
Quitting doesn't mean quitting your life.. it means CHANGING your life for the better.
Don't be afraid.. you are strong !!!
Hang Tuff !!

I am a dudette !!
Yea, you are right. I really would be hypocritical to be looking down on anyone. I was actually more suprised by the way that my lungs reacted to second hand smoke. It was absolutely a weird feeling.
Here in texas, people still smoke everywhere, except in the workplace. If everyone agrees, people smoke there too. I lived in Southern California for 2 years (2000-2001). All public places were nonsmoking. I got used to it.. came back to Texas and never went back to public smoking (except in a club).
10 days without an encounter.. I guess my time had come. lol
Hang Tuff !

cincere,
I quit cold turkey and felt tired for the first few days. I was napping and going to bed early.. it made it easier to give in it the tiredness. Don't fight the sleeping.. you body may be telling you that you need some rest. It went away and I don't feel it anymore.
It may also be depression. You are right at the right place (5 days nic free) to be feeling down.. which sometimes feels like being tired. It will probably pass before you know it.
Hang Tuff.. congrat on ditching the nic !!

Hey Iwin and Hoss !!
Iwin, is your blahness new to you or have you had it in the past? I have quit a few times in my life and have felt somewhat depressed and blah would describe it. Maybe bored ?? Might try getting out.. a movie.. some shopping, reading, planning a weekend out of town, road trip ?? Are you on the patch or anything ? Might consider seeing your doctor if you feel depressed.. wellbutrin will pick you up and help you keep your quit. 31 days is tremendous.. maybe it's time to change something.. for the better.
Hey Hoss !
I'd sit down and remember why you wanted to quit. your inner addict is playing you good.. you don't really want a smoke do you ?? remember all the trouble it was.. the cost, the mess, the people who didn't want to be around you, the constant keeping up with buying them, the knowledge that you were detroying your lungs and heart.. ask your nicodemon if he has solved those problems yet.. if not.. tell him to move along..
You might try stepping down to a lower level of the patches.. you are still gettin nicotine.. maybe less will help you get use to less being in your system.. be sure to give your doctor a call if you don't know the correct way to step down. Do not think about smoking.. make it something that is over in your mind. Like ending a really bad relationship. It would provide some comfort to go back to it but in the end.. it would only be worse and a waste of your precious time (and more things too ).
I am on my 11th day. I hate smoking and know that it is just a wolf in sheep's clothing.. trying to lure me back into it's clutches.. That wolf doesn't get the time of day with me.. He shows up, I show him the door..
You both are so strong and I look up to you as where I want to be..
You all are going to figure this out.. alternatives.. look to them to make things better.
Take care and hang tuff !!
