October 26,2009 is the big day

Gidday Dado, Just start to train the mind regarding getting your quit on. I found reading up on nicotine addiction, tobacco damage etc. really helped get me in a space where I was finally ready to get free. It's so good not smoking anymore and you will find that the further along the journey you go, the easier it becomes. I smoked for 30 years and I dont even have the urge to smoke. Keep reading the posts here and when you are ready there is so much support here you will find the encouragement really helps. Come on in!!!!

day 4 and i.m crazy

Well done folks, keep up the work, you are doing this. Those urges you are feeling are just the nicotine monster's death throes as it dies!!!! I was a heavy smoker for 30 years and perviously could only stop for 3/4 days. . It will feel a bit tough at times during Hell week but believe me, it does get easier, and within a few weeks you will have that moment of revalation when you are in a situation that would normally reach for a smoke, and it doesn't cross your mind. Keep jumping in and posting, everyone here has been where you, we are all here to help.

Oh Dear What Can We Do

I'm only a "baby" into my quit, but I dont miss smoking at all!!! I used to smoke roll your owns so I had to carry around with a pouch of rolling tobacco, cigarette papers, filters, and a lighter. Man I dont miss all that paraphenalia!!!! I look at people smoking now and I realise they dont look that happy, standing , huddled against the wind and rain, choking themselves. I love not smoking, and even though the last few days have stressful to the max, not once have I thought " I need a smoke"..  I cringe when I look at photos of me in days gone by with a smoke in my hands, it just looks so ridiculous. I feel free.
