CM,

You're correct,  the Session Tools are unlocked once you've completed the sessions.

In your challenge worksheet, record the situation (date, place, time), physical symptoms, a description of your anxious thoughts, behaviours, evidence for anxious thoughts, evidence against anxious thoughts, and alternative thoughts.  Use your fear scale to rate any type of fear you may be having.  Do this when you have negative thoughts, when you're feeling anxious or when you're avoiding something.  We want you to start doing this so that you notice when you are having anxious thoughts and where.

Hope this helps!  Let us know how it goes and post questions, we're always here to provide feedback.

Hi Ya Brenna:

I have read through the section you suggested on "Challenging Negative Thoughts".  One thing though when I finished reading an "Advanced Negative Thought Form or Challenge Worksheet" didn't unlock for me to use.  Maybe I'm mistaken but I believe it said when I had finished reading the session that one of the forms would be unlocked.

Rofl Caden, you're definitely not the only one left.

If you think the lack of structure creates irritation and anger, then you could work up a plan to fix it.  We'll always have problems, but those problems will keep happening until you decide to do something about it.  Seems like your getting to the point where you've had enough, this is good.  I had the same, still do from time to time when I feel myself slip.  It's what creates that irritation and frustration.  It's the strength you need to fight back against the anxiety, so focus your emotions on that!  The only cure for fire is water, the only cure for something that's broken is to fix it, the only way to get out of this path your on, is to change paths...

I've had that same feeling where things are getting better, then I get sucker punched by anxiety.  It's the mind trying to go back to the way things were.  It's what the mind knew for so long, and it had such powerful control that it's something you'll never forget.  The key is letting it go in one ear and out the other.  Don't give it any attention, just let it hang around until it realizes it's going nowhere, and it'll leave on it's own.

You're at a great point in anxiety, because your winning.  You talked about feeling better, you're talking rationally in your posts, you can see the difference between right and wrong again.  What the anxiety hasn't let you see yet, and will try to keep you from seeing, is that you're coming back in control.  How's it feel?

CM,

This thoughts can creep up and they can be very intimidating. Take some time to read through the 'Challenging your Negative Thoughts' exercise and learn how to control these thoughts. It will be very beneficial to you in the future when these thoughts arise.

Members have any of you experienced these thoughts?

Hi CM

Sounds familiar. Getting over this takes time. Like I wrote on my post; it is kind of like getting over grief or a traumatic experience. The more time goes by the more those thoughts become less frequent. I have days go by when I completely forget about panic. It is a wonderful experience and very possible. I can't really say how you get over it because I am still being bullied myself. But somehow time heals all wounds. When you break the thought pattern you begin to stop thinking those panicky thoughts. Having a vacation helps. I don't know if you are agarophobic but getting away somewhere strange provides a new thought pattern.

Glad to see you are doing better.

Hi Ya Guys:

Well I was having not too bad a day, actually cleaned up a bit of stuff in my room.  It felt really good, not too bad a mood either.  Then all of a sudden I was just standing in one of our rooms when a thought entered my mind "I'm not finished with you yet".  I don't know where it came from but it really frightened the wits out of me.  The only explanation I could come up with was now that I am starting to feel better it was as if the anxiety bully was saying to me you think you're over me you got another thing coming.  I told my mum about it she said to try and forget about it and that I analyze  things too much - of course she's right again.

Well the thought is still bothering me & having told mum I said to her I think she thinks there is something really wrong with me.  But you know what it's actually me who thinks there is something really wrong with me.

Anyone else had this kind of experience, just when you think things are getting better then wham!  How did you handle it?

I have read on previous posts that anxiety is referred to as a bully, it seems it doesn't want to give up it's hold on/over me.

Hi Ya Faryal:

Thanks for all the good advice especially about the B-complex.  Why is is that doctors don't tell people with anxiety or panic to take this, no all they can think of is anti-anxiety & anti-depressant.  Nothing more natural for them!

As for rest you know since last year I will not give into having a nap if I'm tired during the day, I just won't.  I think I did give in once and had a panic attack since then no napping for me.  Resting during the day in for form of a nap to me is letting go and I just don't want to do that.  Sure I will muck around with my computer, do gardening but not sleep.

Once again thanks for the advice I'm going to check with my doctor about the B-complex.  I went to the drugstore  tonight to buy one but read the warning label & that was enough to put me off.  I know a friend of mine who suffered from depression took liquid b-12 & couldn't say enough about how it lifted her mood.

I will definitely look into it.

Hi CM,

Ensure you are getting adequate rest and sleep while you have this time off because that definitely has an effect on mood. If you are tired or cranky, you will get angry and irritated faster because your patience will be practically non-existent.

Consider also taking a B-complex so that you can address any nutritional deficiencies in terms of energy - the B vitamins are important for regulating stress levels and stabilizing mood.

Do something nice for yourself each day - a long bubble bath, paint your nails, get a massage, watch a movie, hang out with a friend - whatever it is to feel some positive energy and also to get out of the house.

Post often and let us know how you are doing!

Hi Ya Joe:

No apologies needed, I honestly thought everyone had gotten rid of their anxiety/panic and I was the only one left who didn't - silly me.

I'm with you right now the lack of structure is what I believe is causing my increasing irritation and anger.  I agree with you about the reading too, I have to be interested in the topic.  So as I said to Breanne I might try reading a book on writing english essays, boy oh boy never thought I would be interested in reading a book on this topic.  Have things changed or what?
