Congratulations on the 5 k missthing! Started practicing for my mini-triathalon and realize that it's going to be ALOT harder than I thought it was going to be (and it's not even a REAL triathalon). Anyway..........these diet plans don't allow for extra exercise so I went over today 1779 calories 47.7 % carb 25.7 % protein 28.6 % fat But....I spent 2 hours at the gym today - 30 minutes doing (very slow) lengths in the pool, 20 mins on the bike, a 45 minute lean machines class and a 15 mins abs class .... I figured that I deserved my smoothie tonight! (And I was hungry!) Tonight I have to go to the dentist so depending on how that goes will determine if I go to the gym tonight. Hey Deli - Welcome to the wobbly bottom club - I'll kick yours if you kick mine! I was a good girl today (very bad on Saturday) 1410 calories 55.7 carb 15.3 protein 29 fat I did 25 mins cardio and about 25 mins upper body weights.... Here's a question for ya! I'm trying to start training for this mini-marathon which means I have to do alot of swimming and biking etc but I don't like to miss my regular classes soooooooooooooooo....I thought that tomorrow I would swim and then go to a class. The question is: Eating a whole lots right before working out can make you throw up (and I don't like throwing up) but not having enough calories will make you weak (and I want to be STRONG). I read that you are supposed to eat the calories about 2 hours before the workout BUT I refuse to set my alarm to get up at 5 a.m. to eat.........so any suggestions??? Stayed just under the 1600 calories yesterday and today. My nephew came and gave me swimming tips last night. Today, I did 25 mins on bike and 15 mins on treadmill and 15 mins abs... Haven't weighed myself yet this week...we will see! Well...I cut out the smoothie last night because I felt too guilty about the night before (so I only had about 1200 calories) Today will be 1300 calories including popcorn and wine with the movie tonight. Swimming - 20 mins Bicycle - 30 mins Weights - 15 mins Windy My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 202 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,054 Amount Saved: $1010 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 17 Mins: 52 Seconds: 28

Maz, Welcome! Here's the brief rundown: * Watch your portion sizes. * Drink water. * Watch your calorie intake. * Make healthy choices. * Eat breakfast as it helps jumpstart your metabolism for the day. * Try cooking with olive oil as opposed to butter or lard when you can. * Choose your cooking methods wisely. Broil or bake instead of frying when you can. * Exercise! Start off with an acheivable goal that involves an enjoyable activity and go from there. Ex: Playing golf once a week. Hmmm...Okay so yesterday was 2500 calories and today was 1500 calories so I think tha I'll just average them out and it doesn't seem quite so bad. No exercise yesterday. Today 20 mins swimming, 30 mins on treadmill followed by weights and stretching. My nephews going to give me some swimming tips on Monday. Hello all. New here and I also do not want to gain weight so any tips will help. I don't think I can to a breakdown of the different amounts in food as I have to cook things by scratch as my son can not touch E numbers (additives). Yes this can be a lot more healthy but I tend to still cook to much so eat too much. I did start to read all the posts on here but there is so much to go through and I try to limit myself to one hour on the computer as this is one of the places that I use to smoke the most. So a brief rundown on tips would be most helpful.
