Lolo - you are right, everyone has their own quit. My last quit was my first attempt and obviously I fell. The problem was I didn't get back on track for 2 years. congrats to you for jumping back on the train!

In case we need a reason other than life to keep the quit, here is a very small list of the 4000 chemicals found in cigarette smoke:
Acetone (nail polish remover), Acetic Acid (Vinegar), Ammonium (Floor/Toilet Cleaner), Arsenic (poison), Butane (cigarette lighter fluid), Cadmium (rechargeable batteries), Carbon Monoxide (car exhaust fumes), DDT/Dieldrin (Insecticides), Ethanol (alcohol), Formaldehyde (preserver of body tissue and fabric), Hexamine (barbecue lighter), Hydrogen Cyanide (gas chamber poison), Methane (swamp gas), Methanol (rocket fuel), Napthalene (mothballs), Nicotine ( insecticide/addictive drug), Nitrobenzene (gasoline additive), Nitrous Oxide Phenols (disinfectant), Steric Acid (candle wax), Toluene (industrial solvent), Vinyl Chloride (makes PVC)

Hey Quig - Congrats on your Quit! I'm a newbie - day 3 for me, but I couldn't have made it through day 1 without all the support. I also read a LOT of old posts. Just type in whatever you are feeling in the search and wisdom is there.
Hope to see more of you!

Hello all! Day 3 is under way and I feel great. I swear the air smells better this morning. The only downfall which happened to be hilarious and a good thing was when I was searching my computer bag for a jump drive and found a single nasty cigarette laying there. I have no idea how it got there, but I freaked. I immediately grabbed it and was breaking it into pieces like a mad woman and went to run to the trash - welp, I forgot about the computer bag and busted my arse! I couldn't help but laugh even though it really did hurt. Geez - I hope I don't find any on the roof or by the lawnmower. I can hear it now "Woman dies trying to dispose of cigarette"!
Cravings are here but not that bad today - I just say nope to that voice insisting I step outside and light up. I hope everyone has a great day!
(Did I mention a little euphoria has set in? Could be the reason I am so happy instead of "Joan" today - as in Crawford)

Oh - I feel so bad for you! Took me back to a place very similar. I remarried and moved from Florida 3 1/2 years ago to TN and OK (long story). My daughter was working and didn't want to move because she loves Florida so I let her stay in the house. It was the hardest thing I have EVER done. But in the end, it has been the best thing that happened to us. We were always close, but we had our moments and I have found that when I do see her it is absolutely wonderful. We have quality time and never argue. Sure, it is hard at times but we email and call daily and I am never more than a 2 hour flight away. Hang in there - it will be really hard but keep the quit - think of it as a gift to your son as well as yourself! Let the tears flow, breathe and keep your hands busy by writing letters to your son. We're here for you!
