IMAQUITTER is 1 WEEK OLD!

Wow - you guys and gals (and animals!) sure know how to make a quitter feel good! Thanks for all the kind words - today was a GREAT day. I was struttin' all around town today and picked up a few more rewards. I think DH is wondering exactly how much this Quit is going to cost him! ha. Blue Cloud - being compared in any way, shape or form to Unhooked is a compliment of the highest form and I truly mean that. The bottom line is - if you don't laugh, you hurt someone - end up in prison saying "Hi Sailor" to a guard named Gladys! (Not that I would know mind you!). Thanks again and to those just surfin' around - you CAN do this! August 25th Saturday's Star Quitters!

Ditto Tresa - you are the man Mister Ed. err, I mean you are the horse. Great job - seeing your name on a list just gives you that little "umph" to keep on going. Thanks! Hanging by a rope!!!

Sparky - your posts have been such an inspiration to me. I hate to hear you are having a rough time! You have made it so far and you will continue on your path - it just gets bumpy along the way. Those are the hardest tests but when you realize you can get through it without the crutch, you win! I'll be interested in how you continue off Chantix. I am also on it and fear it is like a "binkie" that I won't want to give up. From old-timers to newbies, we are here for you! Yesterday sucked

Congrats Gregor on getting through a rough patch. While I tend to post about the good things, trust me I have had a few of those when I was pushed to the edge. When my new IPOD was smarter than me and I couldn't add a song, it almost hit the door. I had to literally sit, close my eyes and make myself BREATHE. My poor dog thought I was having a breakdown. But I, like you, made it through. As Lolo said, one day at a time! You are doing GREAT!!!!! feeling rejected (help)

Yahoo Mama!!!! To be honest, I actually fretted alot about my post to you after I replied. I in NO WAY was assuming Papakitty is a bad guy, I just heard alot of the old me in you. Glad to hear you are becoming more assertive and that you kept your quit! Isn't that lack of cigarette breath wonderful? The first day I noticed it, I blew my nasty morning breath in my husband's face - poor guy! But I was so dang excited. You are doing great and I am soooo glad everyone here was able to help you. I can tell from your posts that you are a very special person! Have a great evening and weekend! Knowlege on emphysema?

It is so sad. There is not much worse than seeing someone with oxygen struggling for every breath. La Bistro

Bear I must admit, you are so darn cute. Every time I see that icon I smile. Anyway - back to topic. I noticed a great thing today - at 103 degrees, I didn't have to keep my window in the car open on the way to the store or ALL of them open on the way back to air it out (DH is allergic). I was actually cool and comfortable the entire trip. Funny how the little things mean a lot. I'll have a margarita on the rocks extra salt, please! I feel okay

Hi Kelly with the cute little boy! Welcome! You get a cherry sucker for the little man. I am a newbie (one week quit I am proud to say) and this site has been a blessing. Browse, post, search for any word - just explore. If you have a question, ask - it will be answered and if you just want to vent - have at it. I know how hard those first hours and days are but it DOES get easier (even though that is hard to believe at this point). Some people here are serious, some funny, some a bit cynical but ALL are here for you. Mercy said the exact same thing to me about you can do everything except smoke. I have used that every single hour of my quit. Anything - except light up. How great is that? Hope to see you around!
