No. I too have tried Wellbutrin and Chantix and they are both completely different. I agree with Sparky that Chantix works. When I took Wellbutrin to prepare for my quit, all it did was make my cigarettes taste bad. (Remember the feeling of having a cigarette after a trip to a highly chlorinated swimming pool? or some deep house cleaning? They taste yucky(er:) On Chantix - the taste of smoking was always the same but a part of your brain will just make it easier for you to pass them up when you're ready to pull the cord... and start experimenting with saying goodbye. It's hard to explain, but you'll know what we mean if you try it:) The main thing is to work on your resolve and reasons for quitting and staying quit. You'll need to learn to deal with lots of emotions without cigarettes some day if you're serious about your quit. It's a real growth spurt! but so worth it... I could tell you lots more right now, but I'll shut up and wait for more questions when you're ready:)
Goodnight, and sweet dreams about a Yorkie Mom who's just as beautiful inside someday without having to put tar into her lungs every 20 minutes or so without a choice...
Lovingly,
mamakitty

PS Thanks for being here with this question right now. It got my attention when I was about to post for some support myself! (just one of those frustrating nights) Helping you a little bit (hopefully) made it easier for me to stop in, slide out, and go to bed smoke free:)
Thanks,
mk

Hey Sparky, are you still here? I found an old Lutafisk recipe we might try for penguin tomorrow. I hear those wild Norwegians might attend the bon fire too! (Really fuzzy chests to endure that cold weather ya know) Bon fires are good for stress releasers.
Hope to see you all soon:)
Sweet (and salty) dreams,

Wow Lolly... I don't know exactly what it all took to get you this far, but you did it... and I can only imagine the obstacles you endured and passed through! I guess I'll be thinking of you and "what would Lolly do" next time my monitor crashes during a job, or fruit flies invade my kitchen/house, or my perfect child tells me I'm not, or I'm just tired of fighting my cravings... Life goes on... Longer and happier without addictions, right?:)
Many thousands more!

First thing in the morning craves are mostly gone. It's such a pleasure to realize that I haven't even thought of it sometimes.

Boy, thank you guys... but I'm having a heck of a time tonight. Papakitty is upset with me and it's so hard to keep on. Actually, I'm just really sad and just want to go to sleep if I can. I hate confrontation... and I believe I haven't done anything terribly wrong. I just spent 2 hours with a girl friend and had a few beers. If I was smoking, that would be something else I could feel bad about myself from - but I'm not smoking! Thank you for being here. I feel like such a piece of chocolate. Just melting with nothing else to offer but the taste. I promise I won't smoke though. I'm really starting to like the new smoke-free me. Just wish I could get the relationships and communications down right. IS there a right?
I love you all, and am sorry I'm so needy right now...

Tonight, I don't have much time to read, but I'm gonna post and whine a little anyway... I'm having a hard time, and asking for help is even harder. Why is that?! I hate asking for help about as much as I hate asking for a root canal... My life comfort zone is in question, yet I'm surrounded by 2 little women that I love very much:) They're 35 years younger than me and doing arm pit toots and hand toots. Life is interesting...

Oh dear all... (Unhooked and alohakeia I put help in the title for special report/support from you.) I'm experiencing big time emotional rejection from my hubby tonight. I won't smoke tonight. It's too late, and I'm too sad. I also have a younger buddy to be an example to... Just sad and I'm so sorry I have to ask for help. It's lonely tonight...
