Believe it, or not!

That's great! Healthier teeth and less perfume:)I think my gums are healthier too because they used to bleed a little when I brushed. Ick. My hair feels better too. It used to be dull and dry. The Butterfly had a very good run at it

Here here, stickin'.... I tip my hat too. If I hadn't experienced all the physical probs I did prior to this quit - I might be Miss smokin' again too... Here's to a world without this kind of addiction to contend with someday... mamaK My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 60 Amount Saved: $15.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 11 Mins: 46 Seconds: 20

Your ratings are in order

I appreciate you too Stickin. As for the questions, I am sad for a longterm quitter who stumbles or fails - but it reminds me that I can choose what I do each day, and it can have tremendous effect. I wish those who stumble future hope for a better quality of life and a final quit. oh - and definintely "C" on the 2nd question:) mk My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 60 Amount Saved: $15.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 12 Mins: 11 Seconds: 34

Sleep well

I'm up - for just a little while longer... You are right. Smoking is a nothing. And in my opinion, this is what smoking is not: Smoking is not my friend, it doesn't make me wise or help me get to sleep. I can do that just fine by myself, thank you:) Good night Stickin, mk My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 60 Amount Saved: $15.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 12 Mins: 12 Seconds: 34

I see trouble in the next week 4 me

(((PB))) I would have stats almost like you if I hadn't given in to the slipping game after feeling just like that. Well, it wasn't worth it if that helps any:) I'm not mad at myself anymore, but I am learning:) First of all, I'm really proud of you!! Walking when I can is helping me, especially when the huge crave waves sneak up on me. For distractions, I just discovered a new one that's the best thing since breathing exercises! It's called tapping and is kind of like self therapy. Tapping.com has free videos and one is to stop smoking:) I find it really takes the edge off. Each one of us has to take this one day at a time PB... I'm so glad you're posting instead of that other thing! Hang on with all 20 claws, Mamakitty My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 90 Amount Saved: $22.50 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 15 Mins: 56 Seconds: 14

Slipping???

This IS great stuff... To smoke or not to smoke (one, one pack, or thousands) Then to deal with the consequence of our own behavior if we do. Choose to learn from it, or not... I played the game with myself, and it's true that it's extremely hard to put the things down again for good. I initially called it a slip because to me it was a slide backward in my resolve to stay quit. When I realized how serious it was and how much more difficult it was to stop completely, the slips became a quick relapse... Like quicksand, my old smoking self came back way too fast and familiar. I didn't like what I saw and felt, especially because my quit was fresh enough for me to know the difference and feel the truth. I'm thankful I could get back to my quit. I'm not sure how I did it, other than just making a decision again and sticking to it one day at a time. Accountability here is a good thing. For me it matters most when people take root in my heart (thanks Unhooked and alohakeia:) I don't want to let them down because I know they care and are watching me. The progress "scoreboard" is fun when I'm winning, but in reality it's what "I think of me" that matters for my life. If I can ultimately be my own best friend, I can remind myself that I wasn't born smoking cigarettes and that I was always me without them. I just have to accept all aspects of myself and move forward:) When I can be good to me, I can be good to you:) It gives me a sense of purpose if I can help others... You all have certainly helped me. Thanks for the bump Lolo! What does ODAAT stand for? I bet it's a good one:) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 90 Amount Saved: $22.50 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 16 Mins: 8 Seconds: 52
