Hanging by a rope!!!

Hi Sparky, Babykitty just bought a new stuffed toy kitten today (really cute), and do you know what she named it? (((Sparky))) I do some Chantix (self regulated in small quantities), I've stopped as much walking, water drinking and have been trying to remodel the laundry room cost effectively... and I really understand some of your feelings! I think we're normal; sorta:) Let's get back on the take good care of ourselves train. Toot! skuez me. Here's a paw lick... mamakitty My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 14 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 210 Amount Saved: $52.50 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 12 Mins: 55 Seconds: 44

I should have fallen by now

Wow PB. You've been through more than some people get in a whole lifetime, in less than a month! You deserve to feel whatever you need to so you can get through this. It can't stay this hard forever. What you don't deserve though, is a cigarette. That's just hurting yourself because you're already hurting... and that doesn't make sense anymore. You spent all this time working on uncovering the real identity of the smoking trap. Good for you that you left that pack of cheese in the trap at the convenience store and bought gum instead! You're a smart man... with a world class co-pilot:) You're cared for even when you don't feel it. I think your feelings of not caring might be from an overload of depression, grieving, fear, anger... whatever... but it's okay to feel them. If you think you need a little help with good council or a temporary anti-depressant to help you from falling more, it's okay to get a little hand in that area too. I'm so glad you posted. You are brave and wise even in the face of much trauma in your life right now. Keep in touch, so we can be too... xo, mk My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 15 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 225 Amount Saved: $56.25 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 14 Mins: 4 Seconds: 32

Pass the trigger

I agree aloha! (and I'm sipping a cup of coffee with you right now Bimo:) I used to want a cig first thing in the morning before coffee, and then after, inbetween, and about every 20 min. to an hour or so throughout my day. Some days, I even had to go 2 or 3 hours (poor ME!) without one, depending on what was going on, where I was or who I was with. If I had to be without for too long, I got real edgy, impatient, and angry feeling inside... Hey. That sounds just like a craving! But now... I only have to deal with that feeling a fraction of the time compared to my life when cigarettes were in control of me. We're not puffing puppets anymore! (High 5 here to everyone;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 240 Amount Saved: $60.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 16 Mins: 27 Seconds: 36

Pass the trigger

Thanks aloha, good to see you too:) I've been taking my craves out in photoshop:) It's really fun. Remember the Harry Potter story where the kids were learning to turn their worst fears into funny things with a swish of their wand and some spell word like "ungoobliamendosa" or whatever? Similar... but more fun:) Have a great day, and may we all have far fewer craves than one every 20 minutes for the rest of our lives! (here here! let's toast our coffee's and latte's) To the day we will have NO craves:) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 240 Amount Saved: $60.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 16 Mins: 29 Seconds: 4

aww going insane.....

Glad you're doing better bold... Earlier, you asked about things that might help. I used Chantix as prescribed by my doctor and it helps me, but not even magic will work if a person don't truely want to quit. Hope you can do it cold turkey from the start, but if not, that's my suggestion. Whatever works best for you. I find that just learning all I can about the addiction and posting and reading here often has been my greatest tool for success and in working hard on myself to get through this right. sad news

Thank you for sharing this with us Sue... I am sorry too. Sometimes where there are no words to describe a feeling -- somehow it travels anyway, farther and deeper into places and hearts that need it most. Fred will never just be a statistic because of you. He is someone special, with a family and friends who care... May we all gain strength in our quits for our own families and future... Kelly, I love that picture of you and your child:) As parents, our quit is a huge gift to our kids. Keep up the good fight.
