Visualization anyone try it?

You know come to think of it, when I visualize the gross Mucinex guy saying "Hey cutie, I'll met ya at the Valero. Bring your lighter and we'll burn one on the way home (wink, wink)" it's kind of easy to say no. I know where to take the battle to and it is empowering!

I think this is such a good post, I am changing my thinking while I am on the Chantix, I think it makes a difference. I don't want to be denying myself something the rest of my life, I want to not want to anymore. To me that is such a big difference. melissa My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 36 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,440 Amount Saved: $288.00 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 9 Mins: 18 Seconds: 2

What I am missing by not smoking...

Oh come on now, how else would you know that you are still alive but for that rattling in your chest??? Ha Ha I will never have to use my hand as an ashtray again because there is no ashtray. I also will never have to put a cigarette butt in my pants pocket because there is no ashtray.

Quote For Today

Do not persist in folly. It is not a badge of character to continue down the wrong road. --Helen Keller (?) I'd rather be a non smoker with an occasional urge to smoke than a smoker with a constant urge to quit. --Unknown Press on: nothing in the world can take the place of perseverance. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. --Calvin Coolidge Those convinced against their will are of the same opinion still. --German proverb Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read. --Mark Twain My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 36 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,440 Amount Saved: $288.00 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 9 Mins: 20 Seconds: 42

I've Had Enough

Hi there and welcome to the SSC! Good luck with your quit this time. You can make it. I quit before for 3 months and got stressed out and started smoking again. This time I am using Chantix and it has worked very well for me. I am also changing my thinking about smoking, I read a book by Allen Carr which made me think of smoking in a different light. I also worked through the tools you see to the left, there in the glove compartment. I thought the SSC program was very helpful. Good luck to you Melissa My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 36 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,440 Amount Saved: $288.00 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 9 Mins: 21 Seconds: 45

Lies we told ourselves as smokers

I enjoyed smoking. We all have to die of something. I could get hit by a bus tomorrow Not everyone who smokes will die of cancer or copd. Thinking about ...Thoughts and Words

I have been thinking about it quite a bit too. I think your mind makes things harder or easier, it just depends on what you think about. Even things other people say if you pay attention can drag you down. Like "quitting smoking is so hard, I hear it is harder than quitting heroin" or "how is it going? I'll bet you're ready to kill someone by now" or "the fact is most people eventually go back to smoking." Good grief.
