Thanks for posting Terri! I think I am going to mention to each one that I am doing so well, it's not even tempting to be around smoking (that is true, I wasn't at all tempted by my brother and his chain smoking family all of Memorial day).
I hadn't thought they are trying to be considerate, I thought they were uncomfortable not smoking in the house. Maybe I'll buy an outdoor ashtray or something...

Lamplighter - exactly. And this quit is different it is the first time I haven't been in a constant state of denying myself. What a difference

I haven't had any smoking dreams this quit but last time I had one so real, I woke up and reached for my cigarettes, because I was sure I had blown it. It took me a minute to realize there were no cigarettes, it was just a dream

The most obvious one is I don't cough and loose my breath. It was frightening, my pipes would close up, and I couldn't take a breath without coughing. Doesn't happen any more.
I don't have heartburn daily any more.
I do feel like I have more endurance. I can handle a flight of stairs without feeling like I am huffing and puffing.
I don't feel any different than I did when I was smoking but I don't have the constant having to smoke. I don't have the focus issues and haven't at all this time around.
I am having such an easier time with the budget with no cigarettes to pay for.

I was able to just write a check for summer camp this year for my daughter. I didn't squeak by week by week and get behind on the bills to pay for summer care. That is a big deal for me. And we still have money to do things on the weekend. Since we live in a city that is pretty much based on water recreation, that is a big deal for us. Very rewarding to me.
the money definitely greases the wheel a lot.

you know I think this is a great post, but I will tell you that I never got angry, or felt frustrated before when I was smoking. Or that's how it feels when I get upset. I have to just tell myself that I wasn't the perfect parent before when I smoked and I am not going to be now that I've quit.

Shakes! That is fantastic that you could meet that challenge. It makes you know that you can face any challenge and come out stronger.
Congrats!

Sure you can! I have smoked since I was 12, and 2 packs a day since I was in high school. I had never written a budget without cigarettes in it. Or a kiss without smoke on my breath, except for my dad, of course. I had never had a drive in the car without a cigarette flicking out the window. But I quit, and I am doing great! I am a happy non-smoker. I like all the little and big things associated with not smoking.
Just decide once and for all and don't look back.
Good luck and hope to see you around.
