that's right. I am in Texas, and I heard about that law with the foster kids. I was telling my brother (he is thinking about quitting) that smoking isn't going to get any cheaper, and it isn't going to get any easier.
The anti-smoking Nazis are not going to be happy until it is outlawed. I was on another message board for parents and apparently it is perfectly OK to be obnoxious and loud to force a smoker to leave an area even if it is perfectly legal to smoke there and the smoker was there first.

Hi and welcome! I am taking the chantix, and it has helped me quite a bit also. I am about 6 weeks into it, but I read it was a 12 week program, and you could even go an additional 12 weeks if you need to. From what I have read here, by the end of the 12 weeks, many people were forgetting their evening dose and they quit and didn't have many problems.
I also quit for 3 months before and stupidly went back. I thought a few couldn't hurt, but I found out also, there is no such thing as a few.

Hey Jon, welcome aboard! I see we quit about the same time.
congrats on your quit so far, I know what you mean about the irritability. It has killed all my other quits so far, I have a child and I can't stand to be irritable with her. This time though, when I feel irrationally angry, I have been doing the deep breathing exercises. Which actually work. I always thought it was kind of stupid, but it does take your mind off whatever was wrong in the first place. That, or I fall asleep, LOL!
I do hope you feel better.

Has anyone experienced people who are trying to be supportive but inject negative thoughts? Here is an example:
"So the Chantix is working, huh? That's great, I was wondering about it myself. I hope you don't have any trouble when it's time to quit."
Me: Oh, I won't, I know this is it. I am not going to have any trouble at all.
"Well, I hope not. Let me know how it goes, though, especially when you quit the medicine."
Now WHY try to find something negative to focus on? Or am I being sensitive? Or do you think this isn't about me at all but about them finding an excuse not to try something new?
