You got to find something that is near Zero calories and keeps you busy. Some use Sunflower seeds, cause you have to crack them open, do all this work to get a little tiny seed. Sue bought some very low all natural cheese puffs that are pretty good.
I think Celery and Carrots are what the experts will tell ya!
I too had the clinching (still do) problem, need to be careful, I ended up cracking a tooth and had to get a crown put on.

I am taking Sue to the beach this weekend to celebrate her birthday and our 100 day quit, (and to break her crankiness) I have reserved a condo that is right on the beach where they will be having some surfing competitions running. Next door is an award winning restaurant. The restaurant has a pier, which allows you to sit and enjoy the breeze while a band plays right there in the sunset.
After dinner and a few drinks we can then stumble the beach back to the condo!
This beats emptying ashtrays any day!

Chris, if you dig around you will find some of my earlier posts. Smoking sometimes masks symptoms of existing problems so as your body is healing it might just be normal to feel like crap. (if that makes sense) I kinda feel I went through the ringer. Keep your doctor in the loop.
