Calling Closet Smokers

Closet Smoker? To heck with that! When I was a smoker I did not give a rats a$$ about what people thought of my smoking! As a matter a fact, if they did not provide a smoking area in what I deemed a resonable distance I would simply light up right where I was with absolutely no care about non-smokers. Was almost to the point of buying a shirt that said "Smoking Section". Here are some of the places I lit up and my Nicotine induced justifications. In my seat on an airplane - no one consulted me regarding their no-smoking policy. Walking to my gate at most airports - Not my fault they do not have sufficient ventilation. Nearly all restrooms - Who is going to complain about smell? Grocery stores - You want my business? Im smokin! Hardware stores - Does anyone really care? Let's not forget the gas station when I am buying another carton - Drop my lit butt on the floor stomp it out and say to the clerk, "Carton of Marlboro lights please". Oh, here was my favorite, the bathroom in a private room at Hospital - The floor nurse would have an absolute Cow, but I would smile and say, can't just go outside and have a smoke looking like this now can I? Yes, I was quite the rebel :8|: My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 92 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,300 Amount Saved: $322.00 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 5 Mins: 4 Seconds: 27

Don't you get MAD !!!

Hey Stef, hang in there. Couple things to remember besides the fact of how many people die from smoking. 1) Smokers have cravings all the time, to get rid of cravings you must get rid of nicotine. 2) 1st 3 days are very difficult then it gets way easier 3) I think at around 2 months you will start going a few days in a row without a craving. I'm at 3 months, cant remember my last craving, sometimes get a memory of smoking but thats about it. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 92 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,300 Amount Saved: $322.00 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 5 Mins: 6 Seconds: 26

O2 level before and after quitting

My Oxygen level a few minutes after smoking a cigarette last year was roughtly 87. 90 days smoke free my readings were between 94-96. Seems I went from the low end to the high end. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 92 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,300 Amount Saved: $322.00 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 6 Mins: 6 Seconds: 18

O2 level before and after quitting

Thanks everyone, this board rocks. Have been telling everyone about it!. Another interesting factoid, since we quit smoking Sue's doctor approved her to STOP TAKING her high blood pressure medicine! She just did a test now as I was typing this, with no high blood pressure meds for 2 weeks her result? 109 over 68! :) Yep, we feel like we've made it, but will never let our guard down. Thanks again for everyones suppport!
