Mercy,
Same here. Our lives have changed and we are still adjusting. I think it's normal. Vice versa I hear less from my smoking friends/family. Guess there'll be a time when we start to make connections with the non-smoking world. It's a little scary but exciting too!!
The best part is you will always have us ;p

You know, I have let several New Year's resolution years pass me by but this year I set the hook, much because I was encouraged by a new aid (Chantix). I see many folks come back here after a good long quit that failed because they "were not ready".
I'm afraid I might be one of those. I am stubborn to not smoke and feel I have endured some pretty big triggers with the help of this site.
What does it mean to not be ready? Do you have to see someone die from smoking or can you just want to be a non-smoker? I feel this is the fine line of resolve for many including myself. Tough question I know, maybe that's why this site exists...For the minute by minutes and day by days. :quest:
I don't want to be a comeback kid.

Well, it took all day, sustaining of several more digs, an apparent boycott of cookies, but here at the end of the day the fog is lifting!!!
Thank God! And thank all of you for all of your wonderful support. I am not one to feed the fire in the workplace so I was pretty much alone in all of this without all of you wonderful quitters :) :) :)

Welcome Caliproctor!
I'm not normally a welcomer for I'm still new and don't want any words of wisdom to be off. So I won't give any except to say what I know is that light cigs are a crock...just cut down. I like what you have done deciding not to smoke in the house and car. Those are biggies to have behind you when you've quit.
Good luck! Cry out here if you need to. Good people hear listen well :)

Dutch,
Do you own the place? If so I would enforce the law! Your call but if you are in the position to make yourself more comfortable why not?
Things are better but still a bit strained. I like todays quote: By the yard it's hard...By the inch it's a cinch!
Inch by inch.
Have a great day :)

Thanks all. Wish I could fart on demand. I fart when shopping for greeting cards which I did tonite. Is that wierd or what? EVERY TIME! What I cherish is my walk, so I didn't make my cookies from scratch, but I made them. I unwind and destress when I walk. I bum out when I can't due to rain. But I'm out there, cold, wind or whatever...just not wet. I know I'm going to start crying and not be able to stop once I start and that is going to be really bad. What you see is what you get and that's me. I can't be phony, especially when I'm hurt. I am am faithful though so I'm taken care of.

Dutch,
That is sooooo HUGE! I'm ashamed to say I never let my eyes wander down to your stats, I was too busy appreciating your wise words! How can we learn enough to get our hands on your book?
