New Quitter...Chantix

Leroux44, Just started my last 4 weeks of Chantix. Once you go several times smoke free through the various situations when you lit up you will suddenly realize that you are not even thinking about it anymore. That is my experience anyway. Yesterday it rained all day and I never smoked in the house. I didn't think about smoking but what I did think about was how glad I was that I didn't have to go out and face the elements just to smoke! Good luck!!! :)Audrey My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 41 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 829 Amount Saved: $114.8 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 0 Mins: 51 Seconds: 45

I'm sick...is this normal?

My allergies went nuts after quitting and I'm still dealing with it. I AM on antibiotics because I developed a major sinus infection. Don't ignore too long otherwise you might have a big problem to get rid of. I've been trying to find out why as well. Some suggest it is the "special" way our bodies are expelling the toxins from smoking. Others have suggested that smoking masks allergies so now they can "have at it". It sucks. Don't let all those "I feel great" posts get to you. Like we keep reading "all quits are different" and we just may be blessed with the not so pleasant journey. They all assure me that one day I will wake up and all will be clear. And so I wait patiently. Don't wait as long as I did to go to the Dr. My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 37 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 752 Amount Saved: $103.6 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 15 Mins: 50 Seconds: 57

Deserve to feel better by now

-Dutch. Don't worry I won't smoke. I'm smarter than that. I just pissed and tired. So many other quitters feel G-R-E-A-T-!!! -Freebird. Thanks for reminding me I'm not alone and a pioneer here. Hopefully my story will turn out just like yours with a happy ending. Waiting patiently. Thanks for understanding the suckiness part. SURGEON GENERAL'S WARNING: QUITTING SMOKING IS DETRIMENTAL TO YOUR HEALTH. That's how I feel. My body has done nothing but punish me. I finally went to an allergist and had a CT scan done on my sinuses and I have Chronic Sinusitis. I am on 14 days of antibiotics but here on day seven I still have not killed the beast. After the drugs are done I have to have an allergy test done. Of course I got a cold in the last couple of days to complicate the matter. The infection is bacterial and the cold is viral, and the antibiotic fights the bacteria while the virus feeds the infection!! This crap has been going on so long I think it is why vision is starting to get blurred (have a call in to my Dr about it). I exercise and try to eat right but can hardly fit into my jeans. So this is the thanks I get? My patience is wearing thin. I did not have these problems before I quit. Sucks. Did We Know This or Am I just making this up

Stickin, Thanks for the revelation. I knew I wasn't really eating more, was more conscious of what I ate, and threw in a little exercise. I've not been able to understand the weight gain. Smaller portions in the future, and even healthier choices.
