Okay, I calculated the savings up for you. If you pay $4.00 per pack, per day, you would save around $14,000 in ten years. Not to mention you would also be saving your life.

Good job working your way through the crave! Deep breathing also helps alot. Remembering that craves only last a few minutes will also get you through them. You are doing great! Doesn't it feel good!

Hey! You are only 24 years old. Please quit now while you are still young. Read up on everything you can about not smoking. The more educated you are I think it will be easier for you to do. Just take it one hour at a time. Drink lots of water, enjoy your new clean smelling self, hop on the quitting train with your dad! Keep track of that money you will be saving too. Figure up how much money you would spend over the next ten years, that might help you too! Good luck to you - you can do whatever you want to do!

Pete, thank you so much for bumping this. I needed to read that posting. Last night I had to ride out a crave. I don't know where it came from, but the important thing is that I did get through it. I am going to keep a hard copy of this post incase another episode occurs! Congrats on the year quit by the way!

Stubborn, at least you took a puff and did not like it or want to go back to smoking full time. I had the urge for "just one" last night but knew that I would regret it. Remember last nights experience the next time you have a crave. Shake yourself off and get back on the horse.

Hi and welcome! I also quit cold turkey. I think that educating yourself about nicotine and quiting smoking helps alot. Drink lots of water, do breathing exercies, suck on candy, etc...should also help you. When you are ready to quit again, stop by this site and read before you decide to take another smoke. Also, remembering that craves only last a few minutes will also get you through them. Just take it one crave at a time. There are alot of people who have experienced quitting longer than I have on this site. These things have worked for me, at least give them a try! Good luck and check back with us!
