Still can't believe that I am in this parade. It is the most rewarding feeling knowing that I AM DOING IT!!!! Week 3 today in sunny, but freezing OHIO.

Welcome! Take this one hour, or day at a time. Drinks lots of water to flush out your system. Take alot of deep breaths when you feel the "urge to smoke." Banana's are suppose to be good for you when you quit smoking too. Can't remember why, but I ate them anyway, must have worked! (there is an old posting about banana's if you want to search it)
Remember that if it was easy, everyone would quit. Be the winner. Yes, you can sneak a smoke, but do you REALLY want to? You can be stronger than the little voice, called nicotine, that begs you to smoke.

How is your quit going? Remember that every day gets better. As long as you keep a good attitude, drink your water, and whatever else you do when craves hit, you should be good to go.
My lab's name is Sadie too! She used to be my "smoking buddy" since she would go outside with me to smoke. Now she is my "quitting buddy!"
We like our new selves alot better!
Be strong. :)

Good job Stillgotit! Don't you remember being a smoker "wishing" you were as strong as quitters that you met? Well guess what? You are one of those strong people now, you probably always were, but just didn't know it.
So did you rake in any dough at Bingo to put with your meter savings? I just past the $100 mark and was so excited! Every day I give my husband my meter updates - he looks at me like I am crazy but I am proud of myself! You should be proud of yourself too - after all, you still got it!
Enjoy the Super Bowl!

This is for the new people who don't know what to expect.....
Last night I was laying in bed and it occured to me that I hadn't thought about smoking all day. I realized what my quit has been like.
Have you ever been in a bad relationship where you know it is not right? You try to get out of it but you keep going back, maybe out of loneliness or boredom. The relationship does not go anywhere, causes you pain, and just brings you down.
Then one day, after many attempts or thoughts of ending the relationship, you just do it. Something goes off in your head and you are just done. It is finally OVER! The next few weeks you still think about the old relationship. You have to remind yourself that the benefits of the relationship being over are far better than being in the relationship. You may even consider going back to it becaust that may be the easy way to avoid some pain, sadness, or loneliness. Don't pick up the phone just yet! Time is definitely on your side. Hindsight is 20/20 and you start to see the whole picture and just how bad that relationship was.
You start to fill your time with new interests and basically change your lifestyle. You feel FREE from the old ways and you feel so much better about yourself. This is how my quit has been and maybe it will help others to hang in there!

Good for you! You are well on your way. It keeps getting easier! Some days may be better than others but keeping the positive attitude will help! I also lost a few pounds because of drinking water and the new lifestyle. That is great that you are spending time in the park with your dog! I have a black lab who also loves the snow. She likes to stick her nose in it, she is so cute with a snow covered face! :)

Still here and plan on staying. I quit about the same time you did. A few weekends ago I did not see posts from you (your name is easy to remember, plus I remember your introduction) and sent out a post for you. You must not have seen it but I am glad you are still around. I have noticed some other names missing, I am sure that comes with the territory. Any who - glad we are still here! :)
