Hi everyone!

Hi, I am Anna. Tomorrow is one week of smoke free living for me. I love this website! I do have a question...I have not been coughing at all. I thought I would continue to cough as my lungs cleared. Am I doing wrong?

Hi Katie. I quit one week ago today. Here is what I did, everyone has their own ideas, but it has worked for me so far.....I quit "cold turkey." Every time I wanted a cigarette I just put it off. Then I would forget about it. I would actually tell myself If I still wanted one in 1 hour, I would go buy a pack. Then I would forget about it. Whenever I would think about it again, I realized that I was still surviving without that cigarette, I survived without cigarettes in before I started smoking, and I would survive now. I took it one crave at a time and it has been 7 days! You owe it to yourself to just try it, even if it is one hour at a time. Hang in there and be the strong person that you are.

Hi everyone!

Day 7 for me!!!! This website really helps me. I would like to smoke right now but seeing all of the positive feedback from fellow quitters gives me the strength and sense of pride I need. Question: where does everyone get the large fun font, ex. Wwoohoooo, from Healerwithin???? That really made me smile! Thanks! ahem....cough, cough, cough

Hi Jan, I am a new quitter too! I will finish doing something and think I will just run outside for a smoke. Then I remind myself that I quit! It is strange. When I do really want to smoke I take really deep breaths, chew gum, drink water, even suckers are helping me. I had a good day today (day 6) hopefully it is uphill from here! Good luck to you. New Non-smoker today - January 15, 2007 Day 1

Hi! I quit one week ago today. My cravings were more physical too. According to my schedule, it was "time" for my smoke. Many times I would think I would just run outside to smoke real fast and I would have to remind myself that I quit! Hang in there and be strong, read about what is going on in your body right now. Knowing that positive things are happening may give you some strength. Help. I need a little boost!

Been there! Go through the routine...drink some water, suck on a peice of candy, take a deep breath, you know the drill. Keep putting the urge off. What helped me is researching why I felt the way I did. It is just your mind telling you that it is time to smoke. And it is going to until it knows that you don't do that anymore. You are basically reconditioning your mind. Don't cave yet, just give it a try! Don't go down without a fight! Tricking the brain...

I agree with you Monica, about being positive and celebrating this journey. Every night I am so proud of myself that I made it through another day without giving in. I also look forward to the next day, I am excited about my double digit day (10). I can only imagine what it feels like to be at day 100! I love being in control of my life now, and I especially love smelling like a woman! i like me better

That is so funny that you said that you like yourself better now! I was thinking the same thing! This morning I was thinking about how good I smelled!Text I am a clean freak (used to smoke outside) but have also enjoyed the smell of household cleaners! I also smelled my husbands body spray last night in bed, which was nice. :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/8/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 8 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 129 Amount Saved: $33.6 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 19 Mins: 7 Seconds: 58
