Hi Oodlechick,
You have only been off the gum for 4 days ... give it a week and I bet you'll be doing great.
When I took the patches off ... I had 3-4 pretty bad days ... pretty much like hell week all over.
This will pass ... it will.
I know that all the chemicals are probably not all out of me yet ... but I am pretty sure most if not all of the nicotine is at this point and I feel great. Yes I think of smoking sometimes still ... but it has only been one month ... ... ... BUT I do not think of ME SMOKING.
By the way if you see me smoking ... please throw water on me as the smoke will be from me being on fire and not from me smoking a stoggie. ;p

Jeangirl ... remind yourself that this part of your quit is going to pass. Remember that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
You can do this. Stay busy or take a nap ... whatever works for you. Drink water, have a glass of OJ, go rent some movies, take 5 showers a day if it helps, walk around the block, stay on this site and post ... just keep doing anything that keeps you from not smoking ... it won't be long before it starts getting easier. I only have one month smoke free ... and it is nothing like week 1, 2 or 3 anymore. It just keeps getting better and better.
You can do this.

Hi DixieFried!
Trust me on this ... you do not enjoy smoking. You just think you do. I said the same thing 30 days ago. Then I woke up and realized I was a drug addict. I was addicted to nicotine. What addict doesn't say that they enjoy their drug of choice? It is not you that enjoys the smoke ... it is the smoke ... the drug ... the addiction that enjoys you.

This addiction can be beat and beat for good. Prepare yourself for your Quit. Check out the Quit Program Tools to the left of your screen.
You've come to a great support site. We will be here to support you 100% of the way.

It does look like Bob Dylan!!!! ROFL!!!
... let me share another secret/lie we believed with you ... ready?
Cigarettes did not calm you down ... have you ever seen a drug addict craving their next fix? After they get their fix ... they are calmed down ... right? Nicotine is a stimulant ... it does not calm anyone down. You relax ... because you just got your fix.
Pretty crazy huh? I can't believe all the lies I use to tell myself. I can't believe I told them to myself 30 short days ago.
Welcome aboard this crazy Quit Train ... the ride can get a little nuts ... but the destination is worth the turbulent trail. It is drug detox ... plain and simple imo. Feel the fear and do it anyway!
