I'm still a little confused.........
What is the benefit??
Doesn't 1 cig have as many toxins as another? Why poison your body each time you "socially smoke"?
Is it because you think you have a better time?
I dont know....... but for me, if I want to smoke, then dammit, I will smoke. I'm still in control right? I decide if I want to smoke.. thats my choice, so yes, I still am in control.
But, if I decide that I do not want to smoke, then I wont. Aint no nicodemon gonna take that choice away from me no more..........
BTW, why smoke at all?

I've read a lot of posts that discuss the personal journeys each goes through. Up until the 3rd week.
I'm curious what each of you went through in your 4th and 5th weeks...

Sorry to hear about that!
But hey, you got back on track right away, right? Be proud of that. This is hard. Hardest thing I've ever done. But the rewards far out weigh all of it.
I decided on day 2 that smoking was not an option. I didnt care what I had to do, I would not allow myself to have one. I cried, screamed, slept, read posts, and ate my first 3 days away. But it helped.
Promise yourself that smoking is not an option. Come here first next time. Post and wait for a response. Then see how you feel. Change your mindset. Dont dwell on not smoking.
Pick yourself up and continue on your journey! We will be here for you. You can do it!!!!!!!!!! :)

Hello Tim,
I'm sorry that you have had such bad days! I understand about your other recovery as well. My other addiction was a breeze compared to this!
I'm not sure this is the same as you, but my anger is at myself. I am angry that I started to smoke. I am angry that I smoked during both of my pregnancies. I am angry that I didnt give my girls the right start in life. Why didnt I do it for them? I get really pissed off at myself for the whole idea of drugs/smoking/drinking thing.
Basically it is just I was a stupid, naive, selfish partier who didnt care about myself. Now I do. I am fixing it one step at a time. The mind is got to be the hardest one to fix by far.
Sorry for rambling........ Keep up the great work! You are doing fine. Keep us posted! :)

Hey there weedfree!
My hubby and I were hypnotized. I think it worked.......... I've only tried to quit 2 times before, but not seriously, as they only lasted about 6 hours.
But this time is different. I didnt feel anything. I still went through withdrawls, did the emoitional stuff, but here I am. After about the 8th day I no longer had craved. I still feel that way. I have had a few bad days, but for the most part, I remain calm. That is what I think helped the most. My hypnotist told us how to breathe, stay calm, clear headed, etc.......
I would say that is why I made it past day 2. I only quit because my hubby wanted to. I knew it would be easier for him. I waited for him to blow it, so that I could smoke. But I grew into my quit. I savor it now. I will not smoke, even if he does.(he hasn't yet either.. if he can do it, you can too!!!)
Anyway, great decision. I believe in hypnotherapy! I am a walking truth to that! It works..........

Hi there!
I don't think it is disrespectful to do that. I think everyone needs an inspiration to start the quit process, and maybe the little picture that he paints in his mind of what he is doing to his kids is it. But some people need that graphic reminder...........
Ditto on Rusty's response.
