Restart today

Tom, you can do it, honestly - it only takes grit and determination. I am 53 and smoked for 35 years, that is a tough habit to break I can tell you. I know I am only on day 6 but I am confident of keeping quit because I have committed myself to not giving in to the craves no matter how tough it gets. If you feel it getting to you just come onto this site, the folk here are absolute angels and will give you all the support you meed. Good luck and don't forget you can do it, you know you can because it it you who rules your life and nothing else. :8|: My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/6/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 66 Amount Saved: 12.5 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 0 Mins: 10 Seconds: 9

Have tried everything

Hi Joe, how is it going? glad to hear that you have set today as your quit day. We have all been in the same boat, I have been smoking for 35 years and it takes some willpower to quit and even more to stay quit. What I have found is helping me at the moment is to focus on the good things that happen when you quit. So although I am craving a lot of the time, I am relishing in the fact that I smell ok, I am not wheezing, my teeth and mouth feel clean. I have more time on my hands and I have a list of all the jobs I have been putting off doing, I also put the money I have saved in a tin and am planning what to spend it on etc etc. We are starting a group for those of us who started our quit this month, join us and we will all help each other particularly when time gets tough. You are in the right place Joe. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/6/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 76 Amount Saved: 15 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 3 Mins: 46 Seconds: 29

Calling all February '06 Quitters!!!!

Hi, congrats on starting your quit! I have tried before to quit and obviously failed but this time am using patches and finding it easier (still not easy though). I am early in my quit so who knows what the future holds and I am not sure what it is like getting off the patches either. All I do know is that the patches are helping me, it could be psychological because I know that I am using one but all I do no is that I have lasted almost a week now. At the end of the day it is down to personal choice. Good luck and welcome to our group. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/6/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 76 Amount Saved: 15 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 3 Mins: 42 Seconds: 6

Second day, haven't killed anyone, and feeling OK...for now

Hi UpYe, you have come to the right place here. I can thoroughly recomend this site and the great folk on it. The advice on here is second to none simply because the people giving it are actually going through the same process as you. Congrats on the quit and look forward to seeing you on here as often as you need us and we need you (it works both ways). Like the name BTW.
