Hi Ang, doin fine thx. Are you cold turkey? I have previously tried cold turkey and been very much 'on edge' in fact the last time I quit I started again after about a week because I was being so horrible to the rest of the family. I am not like that at all and took the view that I would rather smoke than be horrible to my wife and kids.
Anyway, well done for hanging on in there, we'll kick this habit yet!! :)

Cincere, first of all give yourself a pat on the back for being upfront and honest, no one would have been any the wiser had you not 'owned up' voluntarilly. I can't really add too much to what has already been said, but my opinion on the quit meter is that it is up to you. I know that we celebrate milestones but I, and I don't think anyone else, judges you on that. We know what a great achievement you have accomplished so far, we know that each of us has to fight every day to maintain their quit initially. The most important thing is what you do now and that you take on board the lesson you have learned and make plans to make sure it soes not recurr.
Good luck and most of all try and stay positive - not allways easy I know.
:)

Hello all you new found fitness fanatics! Redrosie, I actually calc you HR target to be 110-140. The pain in your calves is fairly normal when you start on a treadmill and yes there are stretches to help alleviate the pain, they are difficult to explain here.
There are a couple of things I would stress for safety reasons:
1. Warm your muscles up before stretching (5-10 mins), you can tear them if you stretch when cold.
2. Do not do any bouncing movements, they are static stretches.
You should find that by stretching this will cut down on the pain although sadly, not eliminate it.
Happy jogging :)
