At work....Nervous.....Craving....Need Help

JD, The first days seem to go on and on and on and on.....Then all sudden things are great and you congratulate yourself for hanging in there. Attitude is a healthy percent of our success in this quit. You can do it and just think of the times when you will be saying why did I ever smoke??? What's wrong with me I want to smoke so bad!! HELP

Hi Babs, HANG IN THERE SWEETIE - THIS WILL PASS, I PROMISE!!!! I was just there (the 30 day pits) and feeling that my husband was not supportive either, even though he had been hinting at my quitting for years. In my case, I had to practically pack up to go visit my Mom before my husband realized how serious I was in that I would love to have had his support. Now, I wouldn't recommend my tactics but my husband has realized after we finally opened up communication how much he really can help and participate in this quit. I think that HELP was the operative word for us. Before, he felt like he was getting all the bitterness of my quit and none of the benefits and also felt that he was powerless to do anything about it other than be a insensitive man beating his chest. You know, it has been 100% better since our controlled airing of diffences and it really helps by having him involved in a positive way. He is trying his best to understand what I am going through and how important this is to me and so tries to be much more sensitive to my needs. I'm not saying it's perfect, but it certainly is easier with him wanting to help. We are not the opposing figures anymore (or at least for now). Don't know if this is going to help you out but I wanted to let you know that the frustration will end. We just have to cut a path for ourselves. We can do this! I just know it. I've always loved a parade, especially when I get to be in it! Proud of my 36 days of not smoking 700+ cigarettes!
