Meanwhile, I said that you are on the right track. We are addicts. There is no moral or immoral. It is pure chemical addiction. Work the program tools, stay here and read and post. You can do it!

Babsy, I know exactly what you mean. I was saying to a fellow quitter this morning that the rising price of cigarettes never motivated me to quit. It's something that has to come from the gut. An overwhelming determination to quit. We're addicts and we have to detox. No way around it. But the knowledge that I learned through this site made it so much more bearable.

I was there. You will get beyond it. But you will need to be patient and apologize to everyone in advance. Josie's right. Relax yourself. Admit to yourself and to your husband that you are in no shape right now to deal with things. You are in rehab. Let the house go. Let yourself go. Put on some music. Dance around. Go for a walk. This is all about you right now and your recovery. It's okay to not keep up with things right now. You are healing. Do healing work. Find meditations on line. Go to a wonderful place near water. Learn deep breathing and conscious relaxation. Blow some bubbles. Be a child. You will get through. You just have to do it without committing any felonies. Take care of you right now. Let the rest go.

It's a fine line you will be treading between cheering him on and letting him do it on his own terms. You are an expert in this doing it your way. But you only became that way by doing it your way. You can't do it for him. You can't speed it along for him or spare him the pain. I think you should leave him alone, sit back and watch. In a few days, if he's been quit, then cheer him on. Otherwise, too much pressure. My humble opinion.

I've been good today. Holding myself in tight control. :gasp:
b - peach yogurt mixed with GoLean, coffee
l - leftover baked fish, pasta and an apple
s - chai tea with milk
Dinner will be pork roast, spinach and salad.
I also did my weights routine and I may walk in a little while. It's been a nice day...surprise phone call from a very good friend really made it a great day!
Happy birthday, Hummy's son!

I've felt better the last day or two. Sunday I did the stretch dvd and some arm weights. Monday I walked about 1/2 mile, then went to the Y and did leg work and bike. Tuesday I walked about 2 miles. Today I walked about 1/2 mile during afternoon break and that will be it for exercise today, because I have a late night tonight.
As far as eating:
Monday
b - yogurt smoothie, coffee
l - small piece of cheeseburger pie, water
s - 4 thin mints
d - cheeseburger pie
Tuesday
b - yogurt smoothie, coffee
s - 5 almonds, 5 grapes, V-8
l - gyro with feta, coke
s - 2 thin mints
d - baked chicken (no skin), steamed asparagus, salad and a thin slice of cake
Today I've had a peach yogurt, coffee, water, and a giant salad. Oh, and thin mints (dang those Girl Scouts!).

Au contraire! We love to talk about it! Some of the funniest threads on the site are about this very topic. Yes, it will go away, but let me tell you that if you start a walking program, you will have increased speed as you sputter and poot around the block! :p
It is from all those nasty chemicals leaving your body. Be proud!!!

Thanks! I always wonder how they figure this stuff out. Since I write a lot in my job, you'd think I wouldn't have to worry! Between writing, driving, cooking, and sitting at the desk, that's 200 calories right there! Oh, and sleeping...32x8...there's another 256!
Rusty :)
I have three ideas:
1. If you have any Girl Scout cookies left, throw them away.
or
2. I'll send you mine.
or
3. Take all the Girl Scout cookies left in the world to the homeless shelters.
If ever I had an addiction...
