Rachel, imagine back 2 years ago...you were on Day 1! What a great trip it has been since then, full of adventure and mystery, but you made it! Many congratulations to you and thanks for showing us how.

Cuddles, this is one of the most powerful threads I've ever read on this site. After your first post, I was thinking about someone whom I love very dearly, who would be just like your mother. If he had a heart attack, I'm sure he wouldn't change his diet or exercise or quit smoking or anything. It is so hard to watch our love ones go through such suffering, but there is nothing we can do but love them and pray for them.

Wow. You are so right. What holds so many back....let me rephrase and say what held ME back for so long was fear. Quitting smoking takes the courage to look fear right smack in the face, acknowledge it, and keep on going anyway.
You, Lady, are a most courageous person. I am so proud of you.

H, one thing you must do is figure out what's going on that made you buy that pack. Only you can sort that out. Perhaps you can write it out -- how did it feel to be quit for 23 days? What was causing you cravings/triggers? How did you feel when you made the decision to buy that pack? Why did you keep smoking even when you felt bad about it? And what are your reasons for wanting to quit? What do you see will be the benefits?
You can't just say "Don't ask me why" or "What's wrong with me." You have to sort through it all and figure it out. Go back and re-do the workbook. Re-examine your motivations. Be sure that you truly want to quit more than you want to smoke. And then, as mc says, don't smoke anymore, okay?!

Welcome! You will be amazed at the changes that are coming your way. Things will smell so sweet and taste so good, just in a couple of days! Your heart rate will go down. You will be able to breathe easier. So much happens so quickly if you just give the quit a chance to work.
Sounds like you have a great attitude. Take a look at the program tools over on the left. They will help you.
