Working on day 6

You are just exiting what is considered the roughest part of the quit. Pay special attention to your bag of coping tools now. Reinforce your effort my considering the dangers of smoking. A suggestion would be to look up the Australian Governmental web site on quitting. Therein you can click on SmokeScreens and get the scare of your life about our organs and nicotine. Good luck. With good preparation, this could be your permanent quit. The patches are a good idea but are no silver bullet. You need to take the Journey on the left of the screen and study all materials available to you on the dangers of smoking. In other words, find ways to reinforce your effort as you move forward. Thousands before you here have been successful...you can too! 3rd Time Around!!

Only you can make this third time the charm. To quit permanently takes real dedication. No magic pills here or anywhere else. Yet, if you truly wish to stop nicotine, this is the best place to get the support you need. Most of us here do not pull punches. I will walk hand in hand with you through this process...but I can't quit for you. congrats, and lets do it. $1,000 in the bank

The screen name works. You are a CatDaddy if I ever seen me one. Continue with the savings and the better health. The repairing of the damage done is remarkable over a few short years. Drinking

To quit smoking is harder than to quit alcohol in my view. My quitting was so important to me that I did all I could to avoid any temptation to smoke during the first year or two. If you continue to go out and knock down a few then you are asking for a relapse. Be prepared as it will happen. Your problem is right between your ears. Another day!

Yes, let's do this and let's do it together. Hang tuff and don't puff. It really starts to get better after the 5-6th day. After these nearly 1,600 days, I can tell you that we will always be addicted. We can, and I do, control my permanent quit by protecting it at all cost. No one, and I mean no one can take this away from me. You probably will still have smoking dreams even without the patch. A study as a university determined that those dreams were part of the healing process. Still they are quite something when you awake and are so happy that you actually did not smoke. I even dreamt that I had a few just last night. Just learn to maintain.
