Hi Bob. Welcome and congratulations on your decision to quit smoking. I am currently using the patch myself. It has helped with the cravings. Good luck! Hi Robert, and welcome to SSC. You are right, this is a rough road to travel but you can do it just like the rest of us....one day at a time. In fact, in the begnning sometimes it's one minute, one second at a time. We are all addicts and first of all we have to admit that to ourselves before we can move along very far with a quit. One puff is too many and l00 not enough so we say Not One Puff Ever....N.O.P.E. Keep that in mind as you jump on this wagon going to a new way of life. With good preparation, this could be your permanent quit. The patches are a good idea but are no silver bullet. You need to take the Journey on the left of the screen and study all materials available to you on the dangers of smoking. In other words, find ways to reinforce your effort as you move forward. Thousands before you here have been successful...you can too!
