sleep apnea

I have sleep apnea. It has not worsened or lightened up since I quit the junk. Do go have it checks though. The CPAP device they might prescibe is a little hard to get used to, but it will improve your standard of living. Combine that with the absence of tobacco and you are really gaining on a more peaceful life. Hang Tuff now and do not puff. 98,000 Not Smoked..........

Almost 99,000 Not Smoked. Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition. Ammunition here is coping skills. 100,000 is duck soup. decided on a date

Frankly, to quit anytime before our demise would be good. However, why did you select a date so far out? It appears it was just a month deferment? I have found that generally in the past those who extended a quit date had to much time to forget it through continued smoking. Let me give you a brief idea that works (Duke University quit smoking professor): Go now and find a lesser tar and nicotine brand. Then in one week do the same, etc. It will start the weaning process. I do know that also people who step down usually find themselves sucking harder on the butt to get the same kick as before. Be careful to not do that. This idea will work for you. It has worked for millions who wanted to defer a start date. I wish you luck and will be watching for you. Can I do this?

Yes, Dr. Bubba may have the solution to your dilemma. It is coping to masked the craving. It is simple and it is called coping skills. They are hundreds in number and you simply need to set up a bag of skills to call on. Deep Breathing, Hard Candy, Prayer, Straws cut the length of your brand, soft music and reflection, etc. They go on and on. If you have set next Monday as your target then get busy on the left side of this page and do the 6 mile journey, read the success stories, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SOME FORM OF NICOTINE REPLACEMENT (The patches were my crutch), etc. You must apply yourself as it is yours...not ours. Even Dr. Bubba does not have the magic potion. Good luck and I will be praying for you and watching. Hi To Florida Girl

Thanks, shout outs annoy me too and I should have known better. I just hope the young one does at least come and read. I only see her on Sundays so I will casually drop around and she if she mentions it. Again, NO SHOUT OUTS HERE or Josie will get you with the magic keyboard. ;) Lindsey My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/10/2001 Smoke-Free Days: 1647 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 98,835 Amount Saved: $16470 Life Gained: Days: 339 Hrs: 21 Mins: 21 Seconds: 35

decided on a date

The infamous Gen. George C. Patton once said concerning an invasion, Any date is a good date...today is a great date! See, we do have millions of reasons to not or to do something. I can tell you that if a frog had wings he would not bump his butt when he jumps. What does that I have to with this...I have not a clue. I do know that if I were going to quit I would began to understand that their are going to be a lot of places I could not go during the journey to smobiety. Think of this - is attending friends party, or your start to a healthier future more important. If a friend were offended by me doing this, they would have to get a grip while I got a cleaner set of lungs. Even second hand smoke kills thousands yearly. I am going to trust and hope you do quit soon. Remember, only 3 smokes a week have been shown to be of damage to your organs. 100,000 Not Smoked is coming real soon now...........

Like Oink, I do not normally brag...what? Did I say that. Wrong - I am so proud of the impending milestone that I will shout it from the rafters. It brings with it some really interesting other data in the way of working seriousily on one year in life saved and the money not sent up in smoke. I am however having the darnest time locating those savings. Completely off of oxygen now, walking 3 miles aday, got a real christian lady for a sweetheart, etc. If you will forgive the double-negative, It Don't get No better than this. I wish all here well and happy sombieity. Any March quitters around

Yes, I quit yesterday.............for the 1,649th time. If you keep it in daily increments, it goes alot easier. Do not look past yesterday and approach each new day with keen awareness what lurks just around the next corner. Do this carefully and you can stamp out nicotine from your body forever and let the healing process begin. The danger of what we have done to ourselves is to great to do otherwise. Congrats to the March (Newer) quitters.
