3 WAYS!

3 things that have helped me:
  1. Observing nature
  2. Interacting with other people than family and friends
  3. CBT

Session 5 Walkthrough

The problems that I encountered was that I was always fine tuning and adapting the exposure planner. I had 3 treatment goals and the successes is that now I can be on places that remember my old job where I had a nervous breakdown last year (1 of the treatment goals).

I have learned that I could do anything that I think I have the capability and that I could use the treatment goals technique for other as+ects of life too. I just have to take one step at a me.

Now I have 3 treatment goals:
  1. Working 3 hours a day (except weekends)
  2. Dealing with the stress of having a to do list
  3. Studying and working with a relaxed attitude.

Friend Anniversary - Suffering the Consequences

Yesterday was the anniversary of a good friend of mine and he did a party to celebrate his 37th anniversary.

It was an wonderful party with exception to one thing: I had some beers and I can't drink because of the meds. The result: even not drinking excessively, today it has been an horrible because I am with stomach pains and I need to stay still because of the dizziness. I even throw up the food that I eat yesterday. It is a kind of an hangover that I am feeling right now.

Hope this night the pain will leave me alone so I can sleep.

Session 6 Walkthrough

I would be participating in more activities with a relaxed attitude and not getting easily tired. I would have more projects to create because I could handle the stress associated with it. When some problem arises I would be challenging my anxious or depressing thoughts so they do not win who I am.

Simulating Panic - Clarification

This week I am on session 7: Simulating Panic and I need some clarification. Nowadays, I do not have panic attacks as in the past, but have anxious thoughts. Does it make any sense in my situation to simulate panic or should I continue only with exposure work from the previous sessions?

Simulating Panic - Clarification

Thank you all for your feedback and especially Davit. Now I have to look to my core beliefs (maybe they are buried as you said) and challenge them. What are some of the best techniques to challenge core beliefs?

What do you want? - Getting to know members

I want to find a jub that suits my personality and being able again to develop relationships. If possible I would like to start my consulting business practice but as this evolve some risks I will start part-time. I will have some time to rest and spend with my family.

I would like to surf again, which I stopped about 15 years ago.

What are negative core beliefs?

Great post Vincenza. I think the most important negative core belief that I have is how to deal with stressful situations. I had a nervous breakdown last year because of this core belief. I am with this negative core belief at least from 3 years old (now I am 37) and have had many problems in my life because of it.
