Say goodbye Serena and hello insane woman! I am having a awfully hard time dealing with intense stressful moments. Especially these last few days. Coincidently, while I'm on the phone with the tobacco quit line today asking for advice my 4 year old stripped naked and began screaming "look Mom I'm Tarzan" while jumping from couch to couch in my living room. After I calmed him down and put the two boys in the play room (hoping to be able to talk to the counselor on the phone) my three year old decides to poop and take matters in his own hands "literally" and decorates the room and himself. I know all this may sound normal to everyone who has kids. After handling these "situations" I usually reward myself by stepping outside for some "fresh air". Instead I don't get a break of any kind. All I do is yell and scream at my kids and the dog too. My kids are way to young to understand what I'm going through, and if they only new that they are the biggest reason why I'm doing it. Does anyone out there have any ideas of what I can do that involves the kids. I'm all out of ideas and I cannot leave them alone, not even for a second. Please help I'm desperate. :quest:

Are you kidding. I had one kid and when he was little, I not only smoked, but drank too! Anyone who quits with kids is a saint with the endurance of a rock. Bless you and your kids will bless you too.

You and the kids can cook up some fun by making your own playdough. 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of salt, 1 cup of water and some food coloring, heat the water and coloring, mix in the rest and you've got non-toxic playdough! Kids get thrilled by this all out of proportion to what it really is.

Fairy Hi *a cyber hug for ya!* "Look mom I'm Tarzan"~lol That's cute! I understand what you are saying about not being able to let small ones out of your sight. What's the old adage? If you can't beat then join them. :) *no beating allowed ;)* A member named Orthoboy told me about a game he played with his young kids when he was going through withdrawal. "The Scream game" He said he and the kids just yelled at the top of their lungs and it was a great stress buster. Sometimes just letting go and being a kid yourself can be the best thing. Consider getting silly with them. AND Use some of that saved cig money and hire a babysitter (if you have to) to give yourself a well deserved break soon! Hi Fairy (Insane woman) Kids do make us feel insane. Trust me they will never remember this time like you will. The scream game is fun. How about a park where they can really let out that energy. Then they will nap and you can take a breather. I have 3 kids ages 4 to 18 so, I can probably make you a list of things for them to do. Here goes.... video games, playdough, disney movies, give them something to tare up (anything) newspaper is good, then you can play a game of clean up, there is even a song about clean up. Sing silly songs, Go nuts with your kids. We call it quality time in my house. Remember to take a lot of deep deep breathes. Drink lots of water. This will pass and you will be glad you stuck it out. When all else fails...just keep going. No smoking allowed! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 235 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,718 Amount Saved: $822.5 Life Gained: Days: 20 Hrs: 18 Mins: 56 Seconds: 58
