Mitch, congratulations on joining the group of non-smokers. Members have given you wonderful advice. Please know that all of us are rooting for you to keep your quit going. My biggest motivation is seeing my stats. Knowing how many cigs I haven't smoked, how much money I've saved, and most important, how many days I've regained since I've stopped smoking. Best wishes on your quit! We're here for you!

You may lose this love of your life, but you'll gain so many new loves in your life. Clothes that smell downy fresh. Hugs from people who didn't want to hug you before because you smelled from smoke. Walking up a small hill and not getting winded. Going to the doctor/dentist and not being told to quit smoking. Not sucking on breath mints and chewing gum so people didn't smell smoke on your breath. Not having to take breaks every hour or so at work. Not worrying if you put out that last cig before you go to bed. I LOVE all of these new loves in my life! I'm at 7 weeks today, so I'm still a pretty new "non-smoker". I cannot wait until I am one of the OLD non-smokers with years instead of weeks in my stats! My stat meter is my new love, and I love it more every day! Congratulations on your quit. I hope you find lots of new loves!!!

Buer, congrats on surviving Hell Week! I remember my first week, the pressure, the stress, but I knew that it was my time to quit. It looks like you are in the same boat. Here's to surviving Heck Week! You can do it!

Leigh-Ann, congratulations on surviving Heck Week! Don't ya just love watching your stats increase every day? I hope it gets easier for you now in week three. What I've found recently are new triggers. I knew all of the regular triggers (watching football games, going to a bar, hanging out with a couple smoking friends) but now I am finding those other triggers. I think they will always rear their ugly heads, but I know that I can survive the "nicodemon", as they call it on this site. Good luck this week!

Sylvie, congrats on surviving day four! You'll get lots of good advice here. I'll just say ditto on what Cookie mentioned below. Identifying triggers and avoiding them helps me. Changing my scenery, taking walks, the fall air smells so nice here. What really motivates me is my stats. Seeing how much I haven't smoked, how much I've saved, and how many days I've gained back is what motivates me. Its also nice to have smoke free buddies who quit on the same date so you have a little bit of peer pressure to keep going! We're all here for you! Here's hoping that this is your time to permantly quit!
