nervous and wanting to smoke

Lisa, I always look forward to reading your postings, and your flashing green "good luck" always makes me smile.  I know that you are "flashing at me" to keep my quit going.  I know about waiting after tests.  I was at the oncologist's yesterday, got my test results back today.  No new tumors, and the blood clot has dissolved.  In August, my doctor told me that I would have to be on Coumadin the rest of my life if I didn't stop smoking.  Smoking can cause blood clots.  Two days later I went cold turkey, and tomorrow I will be 8 weeks smoke free.  Your 198 smoke free days is a sign that you are a quitter.  No wait, I mean winner!  :)  Keeping you in my thoughts while you wait for your results.....

Rock does rock with 2 months!!!

Thanks Josie and Lisa!  I spent some of my savings from not buying cigarettes for 2 months at the Ralph Lauren outlet store over the weekend!  So now I have 2 new shirts that don't smell like smoke, and boy do they smell great!  Thanks to all for your support and advice over the past two months.
Oh, and some good news, if you remember, it was my oncologist who advised that I stop smoking, otherwise she would keep me on coumadin the rest of my life.  I had blood work on Monday, results show that I am still cancer free and the blood clot has dissolved!!!  I get to come off the coumadin on 11/1!!!  Seven months on blood thinners were enough for me!  We all have different motivations for stop smoking, and unfortunately, it took a doctor's warning for me to quit.  My next reward will be eating a big spinach salad with broccoli, asperagus, and all of the other green vegetables I haven't been able to eat for seven months!!!

My Milage:

My Quit Date: 8/20/2008
Smoke-Free Days: 62
Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,480
Amount Saved: $496.00

Brand New Here--

Annie, welcome to SSC and congrats on 2 days of non-smoking.  Post as often as you need to, follow the advice given.  I sometimes feel like I have 100 moms on this site!  LOL!  Not to mention the 100 moms (coworkers and neighbors) who check in on me all the time to see how I am doing with my quit.  We're all here for each other, when things are going great and when temptation is trying to pull us back.  Be sure to reward yourself, as those little rewards help.  And when you hit a big milestone, don't be afraid to reward yourself with something really special.  Look at your quit meter, see how much you've saved from not buying cigs, and treat yourself!  You've earned it!

ML reaches 11 MONTHS

ML, congratulations on reaching 11 months!  You're an inspiration to all of us!
I read an article the other day that one of the actors who played James Bond wants him to become a non-smoker.  There is no way somebody who smokes 4 packs a day can keep saving the world like he does!  Jumping off cliffs, skydiving, all the crazy things he does!  We'll have to wait and see if 007 stops too!  And if he decides to stop, I hope he uses this website!  LOL!

My Quit Date: 8/20/2008
Smoke-Free Days: 63
Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,520
