Hi David! So glad to hear you are doing well. In case you didn't notice, a bunch of the members wished you congrats on you 30 days smoke free in the stats forum. The days certainly are starting to add up, aren't they? It does feel really good and with day 40 it will feel even better and more confident. Thanks for checking in. It's great to know you are feeling well and still smoke free. Stay in touch, okay? :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 37 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,110 Amount Saved: $216.45 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 8 Mins: 30 Seconds: 53

Hi everyone, Another month, sounds good as we now can say we stop end of August and we are now in Ocotber... Another 5 days and we will be in our 40th, which will start to be really nice... Can't wait. Hope you are doing well. Wonder sometimes where you are all (meaning the group who stopped end of August)? but, if you do not write, it must be that you are doing well :) Take care and have a good smoke-free week ahead David My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 35 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 700 Amount Saved: $2,100.00 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 20 Mins: 12 Seconds: 2

David, All members are correct! It is normal and it will pass, and you didn't smoke! This is the most important issue. Reward yourself, get out your coping mechanisms if necessary and focus on any triggers that may have brought this on. You can do this and we are behind you every step of the way :) Josie, Support Specialist

Hi David! What Unhooked (aka CrazyAuntAgnes) said. And, congrats for not caving, for being smoke free for nearly an entire month and for kicking junkie ash! Way to go, fellow MustQuiteer!!! David, I'm so glad you posted & didn't smoke! Many of us have had what we call milestone cravings and there are some active threads about it right now from some of your MustQuiteer buddies. Have a look around, maybe there will be something helpful to you, too. The good news is it doesn't last long & you know you can get through it because you have already gotten through way worse! We seem to crave at predictable milestones in our quits, usually 30, 60 & 90 days. Most of us believe it has to do with our brain being trained to reward our accomplishments with a smoke. We are proud of ourselves for making that milestone & comfortable enough in our quit that out guard is down enough for the junkie to jump in & start whispering that it's time he was rewarded for his patience. It's BS of course, you've done all the hard work & you need to reward yourself, not the junkie! Do something nice for yourself, David, & go back to the coping strategies you used at the beginning. Water, deep breathing, chewing on something, whatever worked then will work now. Also, better take a tinfoil hat. They seem to work even though they're really supposed to keep aliens from finding your teeth. Take my hand if you need it, David, & flip the junkie the bird with your other one & now you can't light up! Hi Everyone, Just a small question: I had a terrible week-end and nearly smoked again. Although I did not do anything special, I got huge cravings!! We are close to a month and I was wondering if anyone is feeling or has felt the same? I increased my gum consumption, but ultimately this is not a solution... Take care and keep in touch David My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 28 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 560 Amount Saved: $1,680.00 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 21 Mins: 36 Seconds: 20

Good for you, David. You certainly do sound chipper. That's terrific! I hope you don't mind but I think I'll be borrowing your phrase from time to time. I just love that, "upcoming savings"! Sounds so much better that way. ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 26 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 780 Amount Saved: $152.10 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 7 Mins: 55 Seconds: 47
