Just Stopped

Hi David. What time zone are you in? I does get easier. I am ending day 6 today. Tomorrow, once it's gone, will have been an entire week for me. Today was the best day so far. Not too much of a struggle really. More reminders than anything. You know, I go outside to bring the dogs in and mentally reach for the smokes but then "oh yeah, I don't smoke. duh" and it feels pretty good. A big difference from the first three or four days. Today (or tomorrow depending on where you are) should prove to be much lighter days for you. I will be thinking of you and sending my support. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 180 Amount Saved: $35.10 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 12 Mins: 54 Seconds: 50

Starting my 5th day. This does not seem to get easier and the the food cravings are really frequent... Don't think I have ever drunk so much water in my life :) This is quite hard, but I guess everyone thing the same. I thought the 3rd attempt will be easier... Hope you are all doing well. Not sure if you are getting these messages and if I am in the right forum? Anyway, wishing you a good night for you in your time zone Cheers David My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 80 Amount Saved: $240.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 16 Mins: 4 Seconds: 11

Hi Starrides, Nonic, Catacap, sullydog, Josie, Mercy, Tresa, Heather, John, Kelly, Doodles, Not sure if there is a way to reply to you separetly or most improtantly if you will get this message, but thanks a lot for all the tips and encourgments. Witht the time differcence, I found all your messages this morning and it surely did help. Rushed in the firdge for some massive salt and sugar intake twice last evening, including in the middle of the night...Could not control it, so bad...but at least did not smoke. 1hr cardio in the gym surely helps but not for long. Let's see what day 4 brings... Please stay in touch Cheers David My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 60 Amount Saved: $180.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 12 Mins: 53 Seconds: 8

David Welcome to the site, you could not have landed better...There are many people who will invest in your quit. Hang tight here, post, read and learn. The more that you discover concerning our common addiction, the more likely it is that you have smoked your final smoke...Lots of water, look after your body...figure out what nutrients and supplements you need and drink lots and lots and lots of water...Diversion is important as is rewarding yourself at various milestones...But most of all in the early days drink H2O until you can no longer do so and then drink some more...It helps big time... Stay strong and quit... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 247 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,410 Amount Saved: $1,729.00 Life Gained: Days: 45 Hrs: 4 Mins: 10 Seconds: 58

Lots of brisk walks with medictation while you are walking helps so much. If you have a spiritual side....prayer does wonders. I also found that giving your brain a rest by watching a movie gives a much needed break. For two hours you get to escape and keep your mind occupied on something else. You can do this Mercy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 220 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,400 Amount Saved: $983.40 Life Gained: Days: 28 Hrs: 21 Mins: 47 Seconds: 40
