Checking in: Well, I am definately tired and antsy at the same time. I have eaten 15 peppermint candies and as soon as a crave thought pops into my head, I take a deep breath, jump up, and do something else. It's as if an alarm goes off in my head! *insert wide eyes here* I have also found my emotional outbursts are more intense than the last 2 times of previous attempts. I have already cried 3X today but I have restrained myself from it. I think I am going to make another sandwich...I love the 'everything' Italian bread =) I forgot how much I love the taste and texture of the bread. YUM! GM Mama. I am still trying to wake up. Ok..here are my stats =) Mom of 2 children. Married since 95. Hubby retired from Navy while I am only a vet. Officially smoking since 16 but had been around 2nd hand smoke most of my life as my own mom was a 2 packer a day smoker. I would smoke under 1/2 pack a day. Usually it depended upon the stress I was under but average was 6 - 8 per day. The last month I was smoking up to 15 per day. My addiction has lasted for 23 yrs. A promise I made to someone is what has prompted this final quit and I am holding onto it w/ dear life. Checking in as well. My friend left to go back home late morning so we went to the pool for a few hours. We came back home and I took a little rest for an hour. Chest still hurts, insomnia has set in, nervousness, and the jitters seem to be the norm for the day BUT I havent lost the will for my quit =) My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/26/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 62 Amount Saved: $14 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 16 Mins: 20 Seconds: 7

TY Danielle. It will not last forever. It will go away soon. It will be quicker than the 23 yrs of abuse I put myself thru and it is only a tiny price to pay. I will be so happy when I am finally thru the major withdrawals. =) My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/26/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 63 Amount Saved: $14 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 16 Mins: 37 Seconds: 57

I am not sleeping either J. *frown* It's more like a dozing mode or perhaps a power nap and then I am wide awake once again. Checking in =) Went to the pool at 11am and jsut came home about 30 mins ago. Hubby went to the store for peppermint candies as my patch kept falling off and I needed a 'fix' as putting on a new patch would screw everything up. I swam, did laps, and actually pushed cravings out of my head buy swimming harder underwater to remind me what it feels like when I cannot breathe. The pressure in my chest has slowly gotten better too!!
