Yes, I have realized i have done what i can do, and that it is her problem to deal with it now. I couldn't be so kind as to tell her i love her when I received her email after I got home, although i did try to respond in a loving way. I was too hurt by the other things she said, and thought that if i apologised again, as i had done while i was there, that things would smooth out. But, not to be. We'll see what happens over time. Through this I definitely got to practice using other coping strategies when hurt/angry. And to sort out some of these feelings. Not sure if I should have been more assertive in dealing with some of the things she said, but I think I was to some extent, just didn't name the hurt feelings I had from some of her remarks. Still working on being a complete adult when it comes to these kinds of situations, but the bottom line in terms of here is,
I did not smoke
and I won't.
Thnaks for your thoughtful response, penguin. It's nice to see you here again
