Well here i am :)

Hi Ayla, Welcome and congratulations on making it through another day. You can do this one minute at a time then one day at a time etc... The sleeping will get better soon. You'll go through a few days to a couple of weeks feeling in a fog but that will go away too. The first 2 weeks are the hardest while your body is going through changes and cleansing itself of the toxins. Most of us went through this and can help you get through it. Reading, posting, deep breaths and plenty of water helps alot. Hang in there and stay close!!! Ex-smoker since yesterday

Hi CoteD'Azur Welcome and congratulations on your decision to take your life back!! Don't worry about the chocolates, and pastries do whatever it takes to make it to another smoke free day. I couldn't imagine trying to quit with a smoker in the same house and you should be proud that you are doing this. Try to get in an exercise routine since it's too cold out and focus on deep relaxation breathing. I personally wouldn't suggest coffee or wine until like you said "I feel brave enough". For now you could switch to Tea or hot chocolate something you didn't associate with smoking. Lots of water helps! At times I still feel hungry and chew a ton of gum. It's better to deal with a dentist than a pulmonary specialist. Stay strong we're here for you!!! Kayla Todash sorry for the delay but CONGRATULATIONS ON ONE YEAR!!!! Inability to Concentrate

Machiavelli I still get all spacey and lose my train of thought. I've also noticed that alot of it has to do with so many things added to my plate that wasn't there before, almost as if my brain is on overdrive and can't remember poo..I write a list these days or I forget everything. I keep it in my pocket, refridgerator door anywhere that I know I'll come across it. I've even noticed signs of dyslexia at work reversing numbers which is not good since I deal with 6 digit figures in material. It'll either make someone really happy or I'm in big trouble. I hope this helps knowing your not alone. Old New Guy

Hi Bear and Changing, Great Bump!! We sure did have fun and still do. For me it's a good reminder of how far I came, fell flat on my butt and picked myself back up. I could've been where your at in the quit if I didn't blow it. This time it's different and I have different outlook. I'm glad we still have fun and no one ever judged me here!! I'll come to your cafe anytime!!! Hi Aggie, Congratulations on deciding to quit and setting a date. Make sure you read and go through the workbook. I've been using Chantix since I quit and was amazed at easy it was to quit. I waited for 2 weeks after starting Chatix to quit. I noticed you said you didn't have a cigarette since last night, good for you!! You will go through a period of time where your concentration will be lacking while your body goes through changes as it cleans all the toxins out of your body. Read as many of the post here on this site. It will give you a heads up of what to expect. You've come to a great place for support and you have mine!! Day 1 ! Doin good so far!!

Hi Kristilu, Congratulations and Welcome!! Work can be stressful on a new quitter so make sure to have plenty of back up. Stock yourself with water, hard candy anything to help you get past any urges you'll have. Keep telling yourself your a non smoker. In your down time at work read as many of the post here it will help to keep your mind occupied. Use the workbook to the left and post often even if it's just to check in!! You can do this!!!
